Uwell Fancier RDTA

I was looking over the stuff I've collected these past couple of years and I came across the pair of Uwell Fanciers I bought a while back. They have a weird design, the tank has 2 chambers the bottom chamber is the coil deck, the top chamber is the juice reservoir. The really odd part is the wicking. The tails are pointed UP to the perforated baffle that separates the 2 chambers. It's also bottom vented. Juice does not leak into the coil chamber, other than a little condensation. I'm still tryna work out that's possible. It also comes with a separate RDA cap that makes a conversion from tank to dripper. Performance wise, I'll give it a 9 out of 10. Flavor is not as rich compared to my Fireluke mesh. But it does vape quite nicely. I found these on some website, don't remember which, for cheap. I realized then that they weren't a new model or anything and by now, they're kinda dated, but at 11 dollars each I figured I made out like a bandit. When everything gets taken off the market here in Kentucky, I'm bout as ready as I'll ever be to continue vaping from all my stockpile. I also was given a voopoo drag 4 the other day, a friend at work quit vaping and gave me this mod. It's not that old either, puff counter is at 1029 puffs and I've put the last 25 to 50 on it myself. It's handling the Fancier like a pro.

Why Is My Disposable Vape Making Wooshing Sounds?

A customer recently asked me why his disposable vape is making wooshing sounds. Here are a few reasons I think might be causing this:

  1. Airflow Issues: The sound might be due to an airflow problem, possibly because of a blocked or partially blocked airflow path.
  2. Leaks: There could be a small leak in the device causing the sound when air passes through.
  3. Loose Components: Something inside the vape might be loose and causing the noise when the device is used.
What do you think of?

Does More Airflow Use More E-Juice?

A customer recently asked me if increasing the airflow on their vape would result in using more e-juice. Here's what I think:

More Airflow = More Juice Consumption?

  1. Yes, it can: Increasing the airflow can lead to larger, denser clouds, which may use more e-juice with each puff.
  2. Direct Lung Hits: More airflow often means more direct lung inhales, which can consume more e-juice compared to mouth-to-lung inhales.
  3. Higher Power: If you're increasing airflow, you might also be increasing the wattage, which can also lead to higher e-juice consumption.
What do you all think? Have you noticed a difference in e-juice consumption with different airflow settings?

Review of the Suorin Fero 25W

Here today we have the Suorin Fero 25W kit in Silver Martini sent to me by Suorin directly for the purposes of this review. Lets look at it and see what its pros and cons are shall we? Fair warning that one of the pros is also a con IMHO.

Pros:

•Small pocket friendly kit
•Sealed Pods (easy to use and maintain)
•Can take a small amount of abuse
•Great flavor
•Great form factor

Cons:
•25W max (not suitable for DTL as i have tried)
•Sealed Pods (a foul coil will mean you have to throw out the whole pod instead of just popping out the coil to replace it)
•Gorgeous Shiny Sleek finish makes it difficult to handle if you prefer to pocket your vape instead of using the included lanyard like myself.

Review:

In my short time with the Fero i have dropped it a couple of times and while it can take a couple hits and keep on truckin, it will eventually let you down if you try hard enough. Leave it to me for the sake of review purposes to attempt (albeit not on purpose) to abuse it so that y'all dont have to. I started out using the included lanyard but quickly realized it was getting in my way too much as for me it was too long. So i decided not to use it any more. Which led to my foolish self losing grip on it when doing yardwork once my hands got sweaty, which led to it getting run over once or twice by my John Deere D130 lawn mower. It survived the first one but the second one cracked the frame of it and lost use of the screen. It still works (which is amazing) but what wattage am i using right now? Well shoot thats anyones guess. I do wish it was a higher wattage kit because i love cloud chasing and this aint gonna cut it. Not at all. Even at full max 25W it's not even an RDL vape as its airflow doesn't allow for it to be an RDL kit. Its more suited for MTL than my preferred vaping style of DTL. Heck its better at MTL than even RDL.

Verdict:

It's great for what it is, but it's not a kit i would keep in rotation like i do with my Vaporesso, Geekvape, Lost Vape or even my VOOPOO products.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the E40 has the Voopoo and Argus E40 names on the front along with a nice color picture of the actual device contained inside. The back of the box has the usual contents list and Voopoo company information. Mine has a large sticker marking it as a sample which will not be on the retail packaging.

Once opened, the E40 is found sitting inside a plastic tray with one pod already installed. Sitting underneath the plastic tray is a second pod, user manual, and USB-C charging cable. The two pods included with the kit are fixed coil pods rated at .3 ohms and .6 ohms. Besides the two fixed coil pods included in the kit, the E40 is also compatible with a replaceable coil pod that uses PNP-X coils that is available for purchase separately. The PNP-X cartridge gives the user the ability to use the .3, .45, and .6 ohm PNP-X coils.

The pod opening on the E40 has four magnets, two spring loaded contacts, and the airflow sensor. There is also the airflow inlet hole that feeds air from the sliding airflow control on the body of the E40. The pre-installed pod comes with the usual safety seal over the base of the pod to prevent accidental firing. There are four matching magnets on the bottom of the pod and two airflow inlet holes so that the pod can be inserted either way and still allow the airflow up through the pod. The sliding airflow control can be seen in the second picture below. It is solid and not accidentally moved when taking in and out of a pocket or purse. The opposite side of the E40 is where the fire/menu button is located. The USB-C charging port rated at 5V/2A to charge the 1800mah battery is located on the bottom of the device. The battery supplies 20% more capacity than similar products. With the maximum output of 40 watts a true DTL style of vaping can be achieved. It is listed as an MTL to DTL device. The E40 does have a smart function built in using the Gene AI chipset it automatically sets the wattage by identifying the coil resistance and picking an optimal output wattage. However, the user can use the fire button to manually set the wattage.

I looked for any information I could find on the symbol that can be seen on the back side of the E40 through the clear viewing window but was unable to find anything. It does look pretty neat though.
1717202120840.png

The front of the E40 has the Argus name stamped into the top portion nearest the pod opening. This is followed by the display screen and the Voopoo name is below that vertically printed. The display has two dotted light bars on each side of the display that indicate the remaining battery capacity. The indications are as follows.

  • Green = 60-100%
  • Blue = 20-60%
  • Red = 0-20%
The display shows the battery percentage, set wattage, coil resistance, and puff counter. There is also a menu system built in. The button operation for the E40 is as follows.

  • Press the fire button 5X to turn the device on
  • Press the fire button 5X to choose between Power off, Puff clear, and Lock/Unlock
  • Press the fire button 3X and the wattage will flash and the button can be pressed repeatedly to adjust the wattage.
  • The E40 has an 8 second cut off if the button is accidentally pressed
The E40 has a series of built in safety protections which are as follows.

  • Overtime protection: 8 seconds
  • Short circuit protection
  • Overcharge protection
  • Low battery protection
  • Output over current protection

Voopoo was nice enough to include three of the PNP-X coils along with three PNP-X cartridges for testing on this review. PnP X platform is an innovative technology that integrates the advantages of the three original technologies: VOOPOO PnP, TPP and ITO. It applied to POD MOD and MOD devices, significantly improving taste, leakage prevention, and coil lifespan. It enables highly effective e-liquid restoration, intense vapor production, and a continuously stable experience, allowing vaping of 100 mL e-liquid without burning or leaking.

au3qaWv.jpg

The following four devices are coming with the PNP-X platform. PnP X atomization tech offers ARGUS E40 an extraordinary vaping experience:

- Increased vapor volume and taste restoration.

- Upgraded 4-layer leakage-resistant design in the cartridge, sustaining 100 mL e-liquid with no leakage.

- Long-lasting atomization lifespan for the coil, sustaining 100 mL e-liquid without burning.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I have to say that I was truly impressed with the Argus E40. Both the pods included in the kit which are fixed coil pods and the PNP-X pods that use the PNP-X coils provided extremely good flavor production with generous amounts of vapor. The 1800mah battery lasted a very long time with the .6 ohm pod. I got nearly 650 puffs with that pod but of course it could vary depending on the length of the puffs you take. With the .3 it was of course less and I lost track of the puff count so can’t give you an exact number. The .6 ohm pod was my favorite out of the two that came in the kit. Voopoo was nice enough to provide one each of the .3, .45, and .6 ohm PNP-X coils with some of the PNP-X cartridges. I focused mostly on the .45 ohm coil since I had already tested the .3 and .6 fixed coil pods. The .45 ohm coil ended up being my favorite and found it as a happy medium while running the output at 28 watts. The flavor was very good and vapor production was good also while giving good battery life. During the past few weeks testing the E40, I haven’t seen any noticeable condensation and zero leaking. To me the E40 is a great pocket carry pod device that can still give performance like a mod and is great for pocket carrying when out and about.

In the beginning of this review, I said that the E40 claimed to be a complete MTL to DTL device. For me, it delivered. I enjoyed a loose MTL like I enjoy and had a nice RDL using the .45 which is my preferred style. The .3 came through well as a DTL pod. For me the E40 is a winner but almost every device has at least one con and this one had two for me. The first is the button position on the E40. For me having the fire button on the side is awkward to say the least. For that reason I exclusively used the E40 with the auto draw function. The second con for me is that if you do want to use the fire button to fire the mod then you have to press the button once to turn it on and a second time to actually fire the coil if you want to button fire the device. This isn’t totally surprising since this is a common feature on many Voopoo mods but really didn’t expect it on a pod device like this. However, the auto draw works the very first time when the display is not lit while the fire button does not. If the display is lit already and you press the fire button then it will go ahead and fire the first time. There is one other thing that I almost forgot to mention. The vibrant display is great until you get outside in bright daylight and then it was almost impossible for me to see the display unless I shielded the display with my hand. Even with all of that, I truly really liked the E40 and plan on continue using it for some time.

I’d like to thank Voopoo for sending the Voopoo Argus E40 kit for this review as well as the extra pods and coils. As always, a big thanks to the readers. Below is a link to the website for your viewing pleasure.

Bench Test Results: DMEGC 45E – 13.5A 4500mAh 21700

These tests below only note my personal opinion for the ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, EVE, Lishen, BAK, or Sanyo can change at any time! This can be one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. Never use them outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.

IMG_3894.jpeg IMG_3895.jpeg IMG_3896.jpeg IMG_3897.jpeg

Test Results
This is a good performing cell that should be available at a lower cost.

It doesn’t perform quite as well (run as long) as the BAK N21700CG-50, LG M50LT, or Samsung 50E2 and 50S but it equals the Lishen LR2170SD and SF and the Molicel M50A. If cost is a priority and you don’t need every last second of run time then this is a good cell to consider.

The datasheet doesn’t say if the 60°C “operating temperature” spec is the ambient or cell surface temperature so I’m forced to assume it’s the cell temp and to give it a 10A continuous/13.5A non-continuous “temperature-limited” rating. You can run it at up to 13.5A but do not let the cell go over 60°C. This really speeds up aging of the cell and is almost too hot to hold anyway so that shouldn’t be a problem.

Two cells delivered 4460mAh and 4462mAh which is fantastic consistency but it’s under the 5000mAh typical rating. It does exceed the 4400mAh minimum rating though. Since I cannot have the lowest capacity cells in the batch I am rating them at 4400mAh.

The DC internal resistances for the two cells were 25.9mOhm and 26.2mAh, also incredibly consistent. Both cells performed essentially identically.
