    Default Legal status - Russia

Cam someone help me please? What is the legal status of e-cigarette products in Russia, for: import, sale, use?

Also a link to an official statement on this, please (if existing).

At legislative level the status of e-cigarettes are not regulated yet in Russia.
So far, we have only one draft law under consideration, the effect of which can indirectly spread on e-cigarettes as on tobacco smoking simulator. But e-cigarettes are not directly mentioned in this draft law.
Clearly defined status has only nicotine, it equated to poisoned substances. Therefore, it's import, transportation, storage and sale must comply with the requirements for this category of substances.
That's all I know on this issue, hope colleagues will add something more

As far as I understand this draft law implies only real cigarette form factor vaping devices, so people using something like sticks may relax Just wondering what about eGo-s...

So let me get this straight. Currently:

    1. Import of any product or liquid is OK
or: Import of ecigs and zero-nic liquid is OK, but import of nicotine liquid is not permitted.

    2. Sale of any product or liquid is OK
or: Sale of ecigs and zero-nic liquid is OK, but sale of nicotine liquid is not permitted.

    3. Use of ecigs in public is OK
or: Public use of ecigs is not permitted.

I understand that new laws are possible (it's the same everywhere my friends) - but what is the exact current legal situation for these 3 factors please?

Perhaps it is necessary to ask a vendor, these are things that they deal with every day.

Also, in the case of Russia, I do understand that it is such a huge country that things are likely to be different in some areas. Perhaps we can just talk about Moscow or whatever.

    Many thanks

rolygate, right now all 3 positions you mentioned are OK. Officially you cannot import any tobacco or any smoking blends even as personal buy (forbidden by Russian Post). Customs and Russian Post does not care right now about liquids.
So now import of e-liquids, if they don't have any "specific" substances, is OK.

Just run by this piece of news that suggests vaping in public is already illegal:
E-cigarettes and cigarette-looking chewing gum to be banned in Russia - English pravda.ru

And these say the allowed areas will be strictly limited by June 1st:
Russia bans smoking in public: Voice of Russia
State Duma approves smoking ban | RUSSIA | The Moscow News
Russia Half Way to Complete e-Cigarette Ban - Quit Smoking NOW - Zimbio

And on another thread the phrase "If someone will use e-cig in Russia, e-cig will be confiscated and penalty....." was used to summarize this video:
Антитабачный закон: .азрешите нам дышать! - YouTube

So what is the current status? I'm heading for a week long trip in Moscow next week and just want to make sure that taking my ecigs and nicotine liquids with me as well as vaping in the streets is not going to be a problem.
