Default list of RCA123a mods please :D

i've got a buzzpro coming in the mail and was wondering if you wouldn't mind listing out some rca123a mods for us, had to buy three sets of batteries to avoid 25$ shipping because of the whole living in canada thing... so im in the market for mods to justify 33 bucks worth of batts, help me with my guilt?

You could always check in the Canada subforum about Canadia vendors who are closer to you. Enjoy your new Buzz Pro!

The gripper from madvapes takes a single 123a. The precise 16340 from super-t is another one. Let's see... mini copper, xs-haler, and the spark plug also come to mind, but I'm not sure if any of those are currently available. There might be others that take singles.

It bears mentioning that lots of tube mods can take pairs of 16340s... but it's going to be tough to get anyone to recommend using stacked 16340s in anything but a Buzz Pro now. There have been recent injury accidents reportedly (or at least assumed to be) involving stacked 16340s in unprotected tube mods. Your Buzz Pro has the best protection available, but all-mechanical tubes have nothing but maybe some vent holes. I'm certain there are other people besides myself who have confidence in the quality of battery they have and in the venting provided in the mechanical mods they stack batts in... but it has become a hot-button topic on ECF and there is almost zero likelihood you'll find anyone willing to recommend doing it.

EDIT: Two more mods that I should have remembered -- The Megalodon in mini mode will take either an 18350 or a 123a single. And, the regular sized Rough Stack (not the maxi rough stack) will also take a single 18350 or single 16340.

I don't have the buzz pro, but I do have a notcigs device. I have the VVPV which uses the same electronics. I would never hesitate to recommend a buzz pro or infinity pro to anyone looking to get a VV tube mod.

The screw contact is really cool The notcigs connectors are top-notch and the screw is really ingenious for its simplicity. I don't know how many expensive mods I have (or have had) that were well machined and look beautiful, but have a piece of junk 510 connector. High quality connectors are something that really separates the great devices from the merely good ones and notcigs has one of the two or three best connectors I've had the pleasure to use.

also the reo grand does rca123a at 6 V. but i feel it is important to state that the buzz uses UNPROTECTED batteries and you should be carefull using unprotected in other mods look around to see if it is safe please!

Nope. Two things: 1) Notcigs is now shipping trustfire flame protected ICR batteries with their mods. 2) The powerizers they used to sell are superior and the protections built in to the BP are more than adequate to handle any possible episodes with any batteries. .. though if you meant those batteries hsouldn't be used in other devices, that is correct.

There are several threads talking about ECFs requirements for tube mods that can explain why notcigs changed batteries. I don't know if notcigs did the right thing or not caving in to ECFs desires, but regardless of that: Notcigs devices have the best safety features to be found in any device <period>. So, whoever got you worried about the buzz pro batts fed you misinformation or at least left out important information.
