Looking to get an APV.

Well I'm about due to get some more supplies for my V2 e-cig. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely happy with my V2, it's kept me analog free for 8 days now. But I'm looking for something cool like most of you guy have LOL

I'm looking for one that has that clear tube (tank?) by the mouthpiece. I assume thats a. where the atty is and b. where the juice goes?

I know there's provari and lavatube. But I would like to know a bit more info before I drop some money on these.

I do plan on making my juices soon.

Are you looking for variable voltage?? That's a HUGE step up from your V2... not that that's a bad thing! But it IS a whole different world from your V2. There's so many choices out there... it's kinda hard to recommend something. How much are you willing to spend?? A Provari is the Cadillac of APV's (to most people!) but it's also the most expensive.. need a little more info, I think. Do you want variable voltage? Do you want a box mod or a tube mod? Do you want proprietary battery, or non-proprietary battery? Lots to consider here!!!

Hm, could have sworn I mentioned variable voltage. Whoops. Senile moment, at only 22 years old . Yes Variable voltage is what I would like.

As far as mods, I don't know what the difference is.

What's a tank mod?
What's a tube mod?
What's a box mod?

I understand what the Variable Voltage is, and will do. But other than that, I'm lost. Price really isn't an issue, if I have to save, I will save. I mean, I have all this extra money now that I don't smoke :P

I have a Apollo Vtube (Lavatube clone) and it works very well. What I have discovered though is that 3.7 volts is just right for me with the juices/cartos I use - so VV isn't necessary. I keep my VTube locked at 3.7 volts but I do use it quite a bit. I started with a V2 myself and it pales next to even a basic eGo style battery and good cartos...

You could buy a Lavatube class kit for somewhere between $79 and $100 and lower in some cases. Lavatube is a Volcano brand for a PV made in China. It's also sold under many other brand names. Version 3 is out, but there are some production issues being worked out right now. V3 is a 4 amp vv tube mod that promises to be a good competitor to the higher price vv tube mods. It's constructed from aluminum. The Provari and it's competitors are generally stainless steel bodies.

The Provari starts @ $159 for the Provari without batteries or a charger. It's a great VV tube mod, but pricey. Either will give you good vaping, but I'd hold out for Lavatube V3 when it has its problems ironed out. It's still early for V3.

So many choices! Understand tho' that a lot happens outside of the APV, that "I'm looking for one that has that clear tube (tank?) by the mouthpiece" for example can go on almost any of them.
A lot of people buy into a lot of overkill when looking at a PV. For example why would I need a PV that can handle 4 amps when I only vape at 1.5-2.0 amps? This makes knowing what we plan to do with the PV a nice thing to know before buying one.
Of all of the PV's that I own my favorite is still a simple little all mechanical 3.7v mod (a Mako Maksi) that runs off a single 14650 IMR battery. The "clear tube (tank?) by the mouthpiece" that I have on it at the moment is a Vision eGo (Stardust).

Ahh. So the clear tube is what holds the e-juice?

I think I may get the lavatube atm. Or just save a few extra bucks and get the provari v2. What's the difference between the tank mod, tube mod and a box mod?

The Vmax should also be a consideration as well....

tank mod- not sure what you mean...there are carto tanks that hold the e liquid and stardusts like the one pictured above
tube mod- lavatube, varitube, etc... , provari, vmax
box mod- general name for a custom built device that usually in the shape of a box.
