Default Old Dog / New Tricks, and some friendly advice please!

    Hello Guys and Gals,
Let me start off with some background. Back in mid 2009 I bought my first e-cig which was a TECC 510 kit. It was a good start and ended up upgrading to a Silver Bullet which for me was cool. By late 2009/ early 2010 I just flat out got frustrated with my e-cig. I've been a smoker since I was 13 sadly, and have smoked about a pack of Marlboro 100's in about a day and a half since. My frustration came from not finding the right juice, poor throat hit, and poor vapor production just to name a few issues. I'm probably my own worst enemy and made it worse on myself by trying too many things at once. It seemed like I was happiest with Totally Wicked's juice at the time. For a while I was hooked on Nhalers Virginia @ 24mg but after a while it was like - "It's just not strong enough". With my SB mostly running at 3.7v, I'd try 6v with 2 protected RCR123A's at times, I just hated How fast I'd have to refill carts or drip a bit more. As for atomizers I would use regular 510's I'd get from a few different places. Some came I bundled with my SB, some came from Health Cabin etc... By about Feb/March of 2010 I just said to heck with it and stopped using it, boxed everything up and stuck it in my closet.

    Fast forward to today:
I miss my old SB... I have for a while now. I'm just sick and tired of cigarettes, the stink, and being tied to them in general. So I look around, read around quite a bit and MAN! Have things come a long way! I'd really like to give e-cigs a try again. From what I've seen around, it seems like PV's put out a lot more vapor now-a-days. So this all leads to my questions:

What would you guys and gals suggest at this point? Can I still use my old SB with maybe some new dual coil attys and maybe like a tank type tip or something? My 18650's are still good believe it or not, and most of my old 510 atty's still work too. Probably not the best idea but I tried some of my old Virgina Tobacco and it was pretty much the same as I had remembered it. Nestled at the bottom of my box-o-goodies I found a sealed unopened bottle of TW 36mg unflavored. Tried it and believe it or not it wasn't too bad. Or would it be better to go with maybe something like an eGo? I'd probably go with maybe like an eGo-c from TW along with some 36mg Tobacco juice.

Bottom line is I'd really LOVE to get rid of smokes once and for all, get back into vaping seeing as how things have changed quite a bit. I'd really like to get some honest to goodness suggestions/options of what you guys and gals think. I'm not really wanting to go out and buy all new stuff If I don't have to. I'm just looking for a good consistent vape, with a great throat hit. I'd love to hear from anyone who might be able to help me out. Thanks in advance for your time and sorry for the book

First off, toss that old juice. E-liquids have a shelf life of about a year, so get rid of them and get some fresher stuff. I DIY all my liquids, but it seems that you're prone to frustrations, so it might be easiest to stay away from that for the time being.

I use a Silver Bullet for my at home/in the car mod. It's too big to carry around for work, and I don't wanna scratch the pretty thing. If you're okay with yours, then go ahead and see if you can find a kick and a kick extension tube and some 18650 IMR batteries.

The kick is a variable wattage device, it lets you control the strength of your vapor, up to 10 watts. There's a watt chart around here somewhere, most people are happy between 7 and 9 watts, so 10 isn't too much of a stretch. It fits in your Silver Bullet above the battery, if you get the extension tube you can just leave it in the tube and change batteries when they die. If you don't have the tube, you'll need a shorter battery and have to take it out every time.

Anyhow, the nice thing about the kick is this: If you want 8 watts, you get 8 watts generally. Not counting dual-coils, if I put a 1.5ohm carto on my SB, I get almost the same vape as I would with a 4ohm carto. It regulates the voltage based on the resistance. That's also why you need IMR batteries. They're high drain, and built to take the punishment of a system like this.

Were I you, I would look into a DCT (Dual coil tank) and then see if you can find some single coil pre-punched cartos to use with it. You won't be bothered with filling cartos all the time or anything annoying like that. Just refill the tank once a day or so and you're good to go.

DCTs work sort of like this: There's a tank that holds liquid, it has a hole on each end that a carto slides into. The carto has a little flange on the bottom, and 1-3 holes punched near the bottom where it is inside the tank. The carto draws from the tank as you use the liquid, so it keeps going and going.
