    Default metal covering on 801

As I was cleaning the metal covering on the 801 / 4072 atomizer is flaking off showing a bare silver covering. How bad is this and while they still seem to be working (knock on wood) should I be concerned? This has happened to 3 out of the four I have and atm cant afford to buy more..

Do you mean the paint is flaking off?

I don't think i'd be overly concerned. I know a mod that some people use is to sand the paint off their ecigs to get a stainless steel look.

No its not the paint. When looking down the tube from where the mouthpice is put into there is a bar that runs across and over the whole near the battery. The silver looking mess stuff is flaking off.

That mesh should not flake--it is not made of a material that would flake--does the atomizer work properly? I have taken apart many of the 801's and RN4072's and that mesh can not flake--is it in fact a silver color--and where did you get this one from so I know what you have---Sun

Well 3 of the 4 are indeed flaking. I can still see the metal bar that was underneath the mesh that has flaked off. They are from puresmoker the RN4072 two are white and one is black. So far they are still working but it has me worried. It looked like metal flakes and it came off by me using tweezers to pull fibers out from there. They were cold when I did the cleaning.

Chokmah--yes, if you hit it with a tweezer and polked at it to try to get off polyester fibers, you would indeed get little tiny pieces of the mesh coming off--it is never a good idea to try to touch the Bridge and the mesh will break apart if poked at. The cartridge is the culprit here so that it does not happen again. Make sure the core is level with the cartridge before you place it in. Stuff the core down a bit in the cartridge before you place it into the atomizer. The atomiser you have should be ok, but you might notice some vapor lose now that the Bridge has been comromised----give me a PM if you are having a problem and I can help you out----Sun
