Default DSE901 filler keeps coming out and wrapping itself around the atomizer

    Title says all...

I put the stuffing in (a square of cotton-like material folded into an 'S' shape), refill the cartridge, and from time to time I'll get a slightly odd taste, I pull out the cartridge and the filler has gotten sucked into the atomizer and I assume it was touching it.

After taking the cartridge out, the filler pulls itself out. There's some resistance when I pull it out of the atomizer, as if a strand of the material welded itself to the atomizer, or got wrapped around it somehow.

Is there anything I can do to avoid this happening? It happens after just a few puffs sometimes. I don't drop my e-cig, even when I'm very careful it's impossible that it's 'falling' out from gravity or being bumped. I'm afraid that somehow puffing on it is pulling it out and into the atomizer...

I'm using a DSE901. My atomizer isn't the perfect arch one, but rather one that is shaped like a hook or a question mark and is not perfectly centered. I ordered it from myvaporstore.

I've seen 2 different types of carts, the one I'm using is the one that came with the atomizer and doesn't have the 2nd brown piece, but is one complete piece.

edit: I've got some of that fluff from an out-of-commission zippo. Would it be ok to use that as filler if I need to replace it?

I have a 901 and it did that too... I think the batting from zippos should be fine as long as its clean. I stopped using any wool in my carts, I just drip now.
