If you get a decent meter, and take the probes in each hand, press your thumbs into the probe ends, the meter will measure the resistance going through your body.

alright so what resistance would a healthy 37 year old male be looking for(looks like i got a broken circuit)

Is the resistance test similar to a car battery? For instance, on a 12 Volt battery charger, 2 (unfamiliar with unit of measure--amps?) means fully charged, and the further away from 2 the less charged. I have the old needle reading type. It's usually reading 6 or 8 before I charge it. Hmmm. I can also set this old doo-hickey charger to 6 or 4 Volts too. Don't be surprised if you do not see any posts from me in the future.

could someone post a picture of exactly where the probes are supposed to be touching on the atty to test the ohms? i'm a newb with this, i just got one of those multi's from Harbor and trying to figure it out.

I second that request! A pic would be terrific...I've read the entire thread but still can't picture where to put the probes.

This pic is blurry, but I hope you can get the idea. If this is not good enough, I'll work on some better pictures. The probes are on the battery side. Black on the threads, and Red on the center "button" with the hole in the center.

No problem. Just wait till you get my bill. I hate to see people throw away good parts.

I don't remember if I mentioned it, but if you check all your attys this way, you don't have to light them up to test them. The factory primer will remain on them during storage until you're ready to use them.
