Can some one please tell me how long I can reasonable expect the batteries for my 901 to last before I need to buy new ones.
both were given an 8 hour first charge and are now used and recharged every day

The safer way to do this is: buy two new batteries just as soon as you can (right away if you can). Keep those wrapped up. As soon as a battery fails, unwrap one ánd order one to fill up that cupboard space again.
There just is no saying when they will go. It can be 6 months, even cases of near to a year are reported; but it can also be next week that you find yoursel without working ones (also depends on your way of handling it, if you drip or not and how careful or not, accidentaly just spilling some into the atomizer, etc. - but a failure 'all by it's own' can happen also).
Btw, if you are a rather heavy smoker, I would advise to go to 3 batteries in use, and at least 2 in the back-up... you will find yourself either wanting to use 2 at the same time (different atomizers, different strengths or flavours) - or you will find you need 3, with 2 loading in 2 chargers, to just keep up with your smoking once the batteries get older and weaker (needing charging more often).
Hope this helps

I feel a lot more confident now that I've got the USB passthroughs. I too have been getting very concerned about the affordability but now am using batteries far less, so it's looking brighter again.

I didn't read all 14 pages but I read the majority of them.
To answer 20aDay's question/problem the manual which came with my DSE-901 relates the following:
pg. 9 "Smokers smoke 14-16 mouthfuls,so after smoking 14-16 mouthfuls (equal to 1 ordinary cigarette) of the atomized cartridge, smoker should stop smoking about half an hour before smoking again."
pg. 10
1. "To avoid frequent useage of the product, once smoke it for sixteen times within one minute, the indicator light will continuously flash 10 times (about 4 seconds) for reminding"
2. "If every time the user inhales more than five seconds, the light will continuously flash 10 times (about 4 seconds) tips do not affect normal use"
Thus, considering the symptoms experienced, perhaps the method of smoking is triggering an internal safety devise which causes the unit to cut off for awhile.
How strange is the lot of us mortals! Each of us is here for a brief sojourn; for what purpose he knows not, though he senses it. But without deeper reflection one knows from daily life that one exists for other people.

Hi,
I am having similar problems (I think?)! My charges are not lasting long, and the vapor runs out after like having two normal cigarettes. So what do I have to do to "tweak" it to make it work, because I am going crazy and I do feel like throwing it against the wall!! lol

Snippitygirl,
You don't mention what kind of ecig you have, so it's kind of hard to give you specific pointers that may help.
But one thing that applies to all ecigs - are you sure you have enough liquid in your cartridges? Do you have liquid to top them off with? For if you are using pre-filled carts, they will get used up really quickly and vapor will fall off. You need to top them off with liquid, and the vapor will return.
