I think my atomizer isnt working

Sometimes I take a hit and the LED lights up, but I'm getting no vapor. It doesnt happen all the time tho. I'm using a DSE901.

What could the problem be?

im assuming you are still getting vapor, and that is happening just sometimes. did you just refill or put a fresh cart on? can take a few puffs or a minute or so before the vapor starts. also, if its dead cold, that first puff can give very little or no vapor.thats why many give a "primer" puff to get started.if you have nothing at all, give a few quick puffs in a row, and see if the atomizer is getting warm, if not its dead. of course theres the obvious of making sure your cartridge isnt dry, always keep it wet, dry atomizers will die.

I have a penstyle but when this happens, I take a puff and blow it out (not inhaling). Sometimes I will get a cloud of vapor that way but for some reason, it's not getting to the throat when I inhale so it doesn't seem like any vapor is being produced when there actually is (and haven't figured this one out yet).

Sometimes I take off the cartridge and suck on the atomizer itself to see if there is any vapor there. If there is no smoke and your battery is good, then the atomizer is either dead or might need a good cleaning.

Just a few minutes ago I was puffing away when the vapor started diminishing. The battery light was on but I realized it was the same battery I was using last night so I went and put on a new battery and voila!.....it's working great again.

It is a pain trying to figure out what part is "going" but interchanging parts can help by process of elimination.

Yeah, just switch out parts to narrow down what's causing the problem - if you know there's plenty of juice in the cart and it has to be something else.

i suspect either a bad or not fully charged battery, or it could also be a dirty/clogged atomizer (which will still heat up the e-cig but give really crappy vapour).

My name is Shawn, and I live in Rio Rancho, NM (USA). I have been e-smoking since Nov. 20, 2008. The only products I have tried so far are the NJoy NCig (Penstyle) and the NJoy NGAR. I am having a issue with my NGAR atomizer not heating up or working anymore. I have been very careful not to drop or be rough with it, but after a week and a half of puffing on it, it has decided to stop working. Does anyone have an idea why my E-Cigar would just give out for no apparent reason. Also, the only place I can seem to find replacement Cigar atomizers in the US is Pure Smoker, and they are out of stock right now. Is there anyone else that might have them that are not on the supplier list?

I just tried it with a fully charged battery and I'm getting the same results. Is it the atmoizer and is there anything I can do to fix it besides buying a new one?

This is a cigar... so it should have a reset-function, unless the Njoy is totaly different from all e-cigars I know.

First take out the cartridge with mouthpiece, so you can see down the tube.
When done, look at the bottom of the cilinder on the outside (look a bit above the end-cap (led) on the side of the cigar) for a tiny hole. Once you found it, take a paperclip and fold it open. Now put that paperclip through the hole (you don't need to push really.. or just very slightly at most). Now, while keeping the paperclip down inside the hole, move your hand with the paperclip to a side, so that the paperclip touches both the bottom underneath the small hole, AND the side of the hole at the same time.

Look into the tube while you are doing this. You should see, perhaps after waiting for a bit, how the mesh-bridge deep down in the tube will slowly start lighting up; soon followed by so much smoke you won't be able to see anything in there anymore if your cigar was clogged or near to that.

This is 'resetting the cigar'. Do it for about ten seconds, then stop to let it cool down a bit, then repeat. Keep on doing this until you see the lighting up inside pretty fast after you start resetting, plus there isn't so much smoke now anymore.

Then it's done and the cigar should smoke well again. Drop a few drops of liquid in, put in a new cartridge, let it soak for a few minutes, and off you go smoking if all went well.

Disclaimer: this resetting is sometimes known to have some risk of ending atomiser-life, so don't do it unless really needed (most of the times it goes fine though - just this is a bit of a risk - but then, what good is a badly clogged cigar anyhow..)

Better way I think myself, which makes resetting much less often needed, is: each and every time when you change cartridges, take out the old, put on a dummy mouthpiece, and go on smoking like that until there isn't much vapor anymore... only thén put in the new cartridge. This small 'springcleaning' inbetween each two cartridges makes for hardly any need for 'big springcleanups' (resetting) anymore.


(Oh and if you don't see any lighting up inside while resetting, then first just keep it up for a while; very very dirty cigar means nothing will light up for a while - but if even that doesn't help after a certain time, and the atomizer also stays cold, then guess it's spare-parts-time...)

I tried the reset proceedure, but nothing happened. The cigar would not heat up or glow, only the LED at the end of the cigar would light up. I think my atomizer is screwed! How completely frustrating this is!!! I need to buy a replacement atomizer quick, but the only supplier in the US is Pure Smoker, and they are out until the middle of next week. Does anyone know of any other US suppliers that can ship next day? I need this ASAP!!! Thanks for everyone's input, and have a very Happy 2009.
