Where are the holes in the RN4072 atomizer?

The newer RN4072 atomizer is advertised as having 4 holes, but I can't find them. Can someone tell me where they are?

You can't actually see them.

On the atomizer when you screw the thing onto a battery, there is a lip that goes over the battery (as opposed to on a mini or super mini, there's no lip). The air intake for the atomizer, well 4 of them actually, hence 4 hole, are tucked inside this lip. So you can't actually see the four holes.

IMO this is one of the best parts about the rn4072 design, because if liquid leaks from the battery end it leaks on the outside of the battery, where it's mostly harmless and easy to clean off. On mini's or super-mini's that liquid that leaks would go either onto the center part of the battery connector (bad) or directly into the pressure switch for the battery (very bad).

This, combined with what i assume are more robust heating coils inside the atomizer, contribute to more durability than a mini design.

Or, at least this is something i am pretty sure of from smoking and maintaining the rn4072. I have a usb passthrough for it and i was very worried about liquid leaking from air intakes into the pressure switch on the passthrough. Check it out and tell me what you think.

I think you're right. I detached the battery, sealed the center hole and inhaled, and there was still air coming in. The lip seems like the only place it could be coming from.

During a previous conversation we had about this, I looked all over that lip part and could not find any holes for the life of me. I thought I saw a couple of little slits...but couldn't even be sure they were holes.

Then I got what I believe was my first 4 holer with my manual switch from David Yang. The holes there are very distinct.....you can definitely see all 4 of them (under a light). I have since ordered some from Steve and I can clearly see all 4 holes there too.

So yes, you can see them if you look inside that lip, providing you have the 4 holer of course. When I couldn't see them, I thought they might have been the 2 holed ones.

Well, what i meant was they're not nearly as obvious as on a mini or a super mini, or any variation of those where the lip does not exist. I know there are some form of intakes in rn4072, but they're probably not shaped, or recognizable, as a hole.
I have a generic rn4072 from steve so that's what i'm basing my information on. Great design. I still use mini and super mini cigs but the rn4072 is my main e-cig with which i do the most vaping and it's primarily because of the lip that goes OVER the battery instead of getting juice all up in my pressure switch. My only problem with it is the way it looks, but again, there's a good reason for it.

I just took another look with a flashlight and can not for the life of me see anything that would resemble a hole.

When you say to look inside the lip, do you mean take the atomizer apart somehow? Cause the space between the lip and the metal threading is very thin and it's very difficult to look in there.

You're doing exactly what I did. I tried looking under every lightbulb in my house til I was going cross-eyed, and still couldn't see anything but what maybe looked like a slit or 2.

When I got the 4 holed ones, it was immediately apparent. I didn't have to do all that. You don't have to take it apart....they will be visible under a light. They will be right along the where the black meets the gold. Honestly, I think they are easier to see in daylight.

Someone showed a pic of one on the previous thread but I can't recall the name of that thread now.

Are you sure you have the 4 holed one? If not, you might be looking for something that doesn't exist (like I believe I was).

No I'm not sure... I just know when I ordered from Steve his site did say it has 4 holes, so I just assumed it was. Guess it's possible I got one of the last of his remaining supply of the other kind.

Try under bright daylight. I know that might sound funny but I just tried to look at one of mine I know is a 4 holer and I had a harder time seeing in there than I did before, even though I was under a lightbulb; it's still a little dark in here. Of course, my atomizer isn't really clean so that could have made a difference too.

I asked that same question awhile back when could easily see the 4 holes on DSE801 atomizers but not on RN4072 even though both were called 4 holes.
I got this answer from Steve..hope it helps cause they count the battery hole as 1 hole already!

DSE801 holes are very large and very pronounced. RN 4 holes actually come standard with 2 (Actually 1, and they count the 2nd as the battery feed hole), and the other 2 are actually under the lip of the brass fitting. DSE801 holes are easily 2-3 times the size of RN's. RN holes are slits ... not really holes per say ...
