Default Pingonlines DSE901 vs RN4075 issues

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but thought I'd ask before I made a gross error.

I ordered a black mini from theelectroniccigarette.co.uk and some spare parts from them later.

While they were out of stock I ordered a couple atomizers and batteries from pingonline via eBay.

Everything works fine so far BUT the heating element inside the atomizers from ping is raised up, while the originals from TEC.co.cuk have elements that are low and fat. This means that the cartridges that I have from TEC don't fit in ping's atomizers. The heating element poking up bumps into the stuffing of the cartridge, and it won't go on all the way.

I'm assuming, from what I've read that this means I have RN4075 parts from TEC and DSE901 parts from ping. Correct?

And...when my RN4075 atomizers from TEC die and I move to using ping's 901s, shall I just trim the stuffing in the carts down by 2-3mm? Or is there some reason to not do this that is escaping me?

Do the cartridges ping sells fit his atomizers? I assume they must, but they're in the same packaging as the ones from TEC.

    Cheers!

Hi KP. The part that's sticking up is not the element, it;s actually a wick that draws the liquid from the cart material down to where the element sits in a ceramic pot surrounded by steel wool. The element itself is barely visible beneath that wick. Pingonlines' are dsefinitely DSE901, the TEC.Uk are RN4075, that is confirmed.

Basically, you can use the RN4075 carts in the DSE901 but they tend to be loose, you SOMETIMES can use the DSE901 carts in a RN4075, but they tend not to work as well becaus the wick does not stick far enough into the cart material.

Squeeze the DSE901 atomizers GENTLY with pliers covered with a tea towel or something soft. They hold the RN carts better, no need to trim material

The only way I've found to effectively use DSE carts on RNs is to grind off a TINY bit of metal from the atomizer itself, it can chip the paint and leave sharp edges though, not a great solution. If you do that, boil or rinse the atomizer before using to get the metal debris out.

Or the easiest solution; use DSE carts on DSE atomizers, and RN carts on RN atomizers.

Cheese graters could also be marketed and sold as sponge ruiners. Think about it.

My suggestion is to get a little 4 ml dropper bottle and just drip smoke it.I haven't used a cart since going through the ones my 901 came with..

Yes you can trim the filter material as needed for these situations (there are similar compatibility issues with certain penstyles).

In the opposite situation, where the wick can't make contact with the filter, one could try adding another small piece of filter material under the current piece of filter material to make the filter material stick out of the cart and be closer to the wick.
