But we have no real information on it or where to get it.

btw, the metal bridge stuff from old atomisers can easily have fine bits break off too.

hey, BEFORE YOU USE ANY STEEL WOOL

make sure you take a lighter to the wool before vaping with it, all sorts of chemicals will burn off it and what your left with is just the metal

this is a tip from the local crack heads who come in and buy stuff at the mini-mart
I seem them ask for the little tiny roses in glass vials to put the brillo in

Its the same principle as your e-cig except no heating coil(atomizer)

brillo brand is the steel wool of choice for crack heads

Stainless steel will burn but only with an open flame in open air. The atomizer will not get nearly hot enough for this to happen.

I don't really see corrosion or anything like that being a problem with stainless steel wool as it doesn't rust. The reason it doesn't rust is that the Chromium in stainless steel wool creates a tough layer of oxide that is insoluble in water and protects the iron in the steel from rust. There is no chance of anything dissolving into the liquid and then being atomized and breathed in, I am studying chemistry so I am confident about this stuff.

I don't even think normal steel wool will rust either because the liquid is more than 80% PG you really need relatively pure liquid water for rust to occur because it is an electrochemical reaction that involves water and dissolved salt ions. PG should prevent rust forming in ordinary steel wool.

Well it is working very well anyway. It allows superior flow of the liquid both in and out. the air just bubbles straight out when refilling.

Is there any way we can use copper wool instead of steel, or are there reactions with the liquid?

Do you think the wire gauge of this would be too thick? It looks a lot like an atomizer coil, and other threads were recommending using the old coils.
