Default Ventilating your 510 atomizer for cooling

I noticed from the start that the Joye 510 atomizers ran a bit hot when I first received the automatic version. When I got the manual batteries the real problems started. It would get so hot that it would kill an atomizer in less than two weeks! I noticed after getting an old 4 hole atomizer and opening up the two blocked holes that it ran cooler. I originally did this get a lighter draw after some dental work. It does lighten the draw a bit but not by too much as the center intake is blocked on the manual batteries.

Directions: Take a rotary tool (Dremel) with a small drill bit that is the approximate size of the existing holes and drill two new holes evenly spaced between the existing holes. For a total of 4 holes.

Now for a bit of preemptive Q&A

Q : Does this make the atomizer produce less or more vapor?
A : No, I did not see any change at all other than a slightly lighter draw.

Q : Did it affect the throat hit?
A : No, Not at all.

Q : Does it run cooler now?
A : Yes it does. That is the whole point of adding holes. It takes about 5-8 long draws to get it hot.

Q : Does it make the atomizer last longer?
A : As best I can tell. I have been running on the same atomizer for over a month now and that’s constant use. I go through about 5 carts a day on average. A cool atomizer is a happy atomizer.

I hope this helps everyone. -Devon

Thanks for the tip Devon, I will be giving this a try. Anything that makes an atomizer last a while longer is worth doing.
Of all the atomizers I have tried, the 510/Dura is my favorite for sure.
