Wet the doughnut with tap water, heat it until red hot and dip it in tap water to flash cool, do this three times. The minerals in the tap water oxidize the steel and it becomes non conducting. Use needle nose pliers while heating on gas stove, blow torch or butane lighter.

Only oxidize one doughnut, the first one you insert close to the coil. Imo oxidizing reduces the amount of drops it will hold by one or two drops, but it is safer, no shorts.

Since I saw this thread I've been meaning to try it out but have been so busy lately. Are you other folks who've tried it getting good results?

Thanks for the reply and glad it worked for you. I did a 901 today and WOW!!! Up to now I had only done 510. The 901 held 12 drops and I have been vaping it for more than 30 min.

Think you could use this in cartridges?

Saw some threads using pipe filters to mod carts, tried a few and they didn't work for me. I have been vaping for three years and this is the best I have tried.
