    Default Nichrome

This is a cross post - but... I'm impatient!

How about just nichrome foam? Rather than a coil, use a wad of foam...

Do they make such a thing? If the resistance is right, shouldn't we be able to stick it in a ceramic pot and apply a charge to it? No wicking material required - no nickle mesh, just a heating element for a cart to wick onto; or just drip on....

It should be reasonably easy to clean or replace... I'm envisioning that the legs are just screwed into the bottom of the ceramic pot, rather than soldered..

I dunno - just brain storming...

wish they would make something like that ... it would be a lot easier the make our mods... Imagine just hooking up some foam and not have to worry about getting the wicking material also ... Just one step!!!
Keep your eyes open and let me know ...LOL

Crazyhorse - I would think that it would provide more contact area for the coil to touch itself, as well as the eJuice, thereby shorting itself out - but hey, I don't know much.....

I'm adding it to the jumble of ideas though - thanks!

I know i am just a newbie on this thread, but what about drilling small holes in the atty base, sticking each end of the nichrome wire in the holes, and using a friction fit type thing to hold the wires in place and ensure good contact?
Try to picture a hole, say 35 gague size, slide in the nichrome, then slide in a 25 gague needle to hold the wire in tight. It would be removable with a smaller needle, just push it out.?
    Just a thought.....

Just to clean a bit - this concept has morphed into several other threads:

    Attn: atomizer rebuilders
    New Atomizer Prototype
    Replacement for nichrome coil...
