"Don't run over your glass pv prior to use" imprinted on side. It will take more than a bump to break, the telltale bruise on the side ov the atty will let you know of any problems |

I wouldn't be worried about glass dust. I can't see it breaking into pieces smaller than sand, and if you're really worried about it you can install a loose filter.

Glass, ceramic, they are all capable of shattering. Look at the beating some glass watches take, and how often to they break into tiny little pieces ("dust")? Their (exposed) glass might be slightly thicker, if at all, and they are waved around hours on end every day at the end of your arms. An ecig stays in your pocket or in a protective case, close to your body typically.

Whatever. If you guys feel comfortable with it, go right ahead. I just see no reason to bother adding a risk factor to the device to save $8 a month on a new atty. It's good that you guys are trying new stuff either way. | |

Aplejack beat me to it; I was wondering about how durable that glass element would be if the e-cig is dropped. Of course, my Leaford Lanyard cuts down on dropped e-cigs (sorry, compulsary self-promotion ), but I think we've ALL dropped one once in a while, am I right?

I drop mine daily a few times.. but the glass is actually really strong,, and if its in side metal tuber should never break,, but if it was exposed thats diff only takes a nick or scratch to make it break super easy..

I don't know how this could help, but this device works with one battery and instantly heats up herbal material. I don't know how it works but maybe this technology could be used to create a new type of atomizer, maybe even that device can handle e-liquid and maybe it can be easily cleaned; The design is kind of ugly (IMO) but the concept really intrigued me, I don't have a clue of how one battery can heat up so quickly herbal material.

They have some more videos on their web page just google for "Launch Box vaporizer", the important part of the device is the way they are using one single battery to generate a lot of heat, looks weird the way they insert only the positive pole of the battery, if there is metal in the heating chamber then it maybe could be easily cleaned and that is the purpose of this discussion, a way to make a no disposable easy to clean atomizer. Another concept is the ploom: PLOOM , a small herbal vaporizer that uses butane and capsules containing tobacco, PG and VG those devices maybe can be used to put e-liquid in them, also, due to this devices are multipurpose there is no way that anybody could ban them from the market, no drug/device combo at all, new technology is arriving and maybe we could take advantage of this new technology.
