What about making a modular atomiser? 1.Top= snap in bridge (stainless steel wool or braid) 2.Next= filament wrapped around fiber (wick) 3.Next a drilled atomizer bottom (drilled for the two leads of the heating coil) with threaded bottom and a void in the thread to accept bent tail of filament. 4.Bottom another atomizer bottom with the correct threadding to get to batterie holder and threads over 3t complete contacts. when you push 2 into 3 the tails protrude bend tail of negetive into cutout of thread snip and bend positive lead to form center contact thread bottom-4 onto 3 to pinch in place and hold coil Slide into or thread into tube and attach cart. No solder, just self clamping This would solve all solder problems, make the atomizer easily rebuildable by anyone. |

I'll be honest with you... I don't get it. Atomizers run about $7.50.... maybe $9 if you shop poorly. They can last anywhere from a week to months depending on luck and how you use them. Often, the lifespan can be extended by a cleaning process or ritual. So the daily COO (Cost Of Ownership) is in the pennies. Yes.. it could probably be broken down into parts.. and those parts could be replaced. A coil replacement would probably have a retail price of about $2. So how much energy and fiddling are you willing to expend in order to literally save about $.25 (a quarter) a day? Heck.. I pay less for an atomizer than I did for a pack of analogs.. and I'd go through almost three packs of analogs a day ($24) without batting an eye. People who would never have thought about reclaiming tobacco and filters from cigarette butts in order to re-roll them..... now try to save pennies on their atomizers. |

(I think part of it is that people don't like to throw out stuff that is "pretty and made of metal". For some reason they think it has more intrinsic value.. even if it only costs pennies to buy.)

I think the "need" may arise if the FDA has it's way. we can all buy batteries, teabags, e-juice. THe atomizers will be more problematic. If we can build them and then just replace burnt coils as needed, we could still vape without having to buy black market china shipped goods. |

Simple question: How many letters or phone calls have you made to your local and national politicians? If people would spend as much time trying to work with the system as they do trying to work around it.... the workaround may not be required at all. |

Thank you Jason. I might add, if someone builds a better mousetrap(PV) the vaping world will beat a path to thier door.
