Default Tubing by the Foot or Grommets by the dozen

If I wanted to build a tank, where could I get tubing, maybe a foot or 2 and a couple of caps/grommets? I am tired of paying top price for tanks when they could probally be hand made. Also what about healt issues with different types of tubing?

    thanks
    Mike

grommet style tanks are inexpensive and easy to make. Here is the poly tubing I bought. Here are the vinyl grommets I bought. If you want to drill fill holes in your tanks, here is the drill and tap I bought and here are the screws. These are all the correct sizes and work well. My husband used a band saw to cut the tubing to length. I also bought some o-rings at Lowes to go around the grooves in the grommets, this makes a good snug fit and eliminates any air leaks.. they are Danco brand #8 o-ring.

I fill my tanks through the fill hole with a syringe and needle.
