    Default Story on News.com.au

    Hi,

My partner and I found this site on the weekend, and have ordered our stash!

Check out this story on news.com.au this morning. What a load of BS!.

    news.com.au/technology/electronic-cigarettes-sold-online-illegally/story-e6frfro0-1111118601200

Now I am stressing out that there will be problems getting our order through at customs and our stuff won't get through!

p.s. I do not have permissions to start a new thread, so if anyone wants to make this a new thread, you are more than welcome!!

That News article is a year old, dated January 19, 2009... I don't think it's anything to worry about...

You shouldn't any issues with customs - don't be alarmed if you're package arrives checked, because they do open it up but they let you know.

[quote=MrDismal;898789] (link to Sydney Weekly story) sorry cannot link yet!

This article about e-cigs are posted on the front page of this new website so it may change by the time you view it.

It's funny. I clicked on a facebook side-ad just over a week ago and this was the page. I like how the dates seem to be changing on the "user reviews", but I'm sure the comments stay the same! (And you can't read the rest of the 173 comments?)
Now I have to admit this was the first exposure to ecigs I had ever had!
But after about a minute, I realised I wasn't going to be forced to "subscribe" or anything like that... so I did some google searching, and very quickly ended up here, and then my purchase was at a real retailer! (I think it was Fedor's review (If I have the name right) that sold me!

So, as funny as this ad is, I have it to thank really!

Well that's good man, it's kinda odd that I feel it feels kinda good that about 99% of Australia still hasn't seen e-cigs before and it's that odd sort of feeling to me that makes me feel like I own a fresh product. (If that makes sense). But at the same time the novelty really wears off quickly and I seem to by hiding it a lot lately to not attract random people coming up trying to have a puff on that funny blue light thing "smoking" where there are smoking laws like clubs/pubs. But all in all - I think it's a good thing that people are finding out about it, not only because it's a healthier smoking alternative but it might help us with importing / selling / buying / owning for personal use.

DOH! about that article being 1 year old. lol. Talk about paranoid.

Funnily enough, my partner got sucked in by that CleanSmoke free trial on Saturday. He told me he had ordered this cool new e-cig which would help him give up smoking (a hotmail add) then I went in and read the fine print and found a scam alert on the net! I was spewing at him!! lol.

What they do is give you a 15 day free trial period and then start debiting your card after that period. The problem is that the "free trial pack" doesn't usually arrive until after that 15 day "free" trial period and by that time you are being debited for your next order.

So we cancelled his credit card (Cleansmoke had already debited the $9 postage fee!). So now they can't debt every month.

Maybe we will still get their trial pack, which will be good I guess and the good thing is it got us looking into it, so hopefully this will be the key for us to give up the cancer stix completely! Partner is a pack a day smoker for 30 years, me, I have one to two a day.

Anyway, guys we will let you know when we get our stuff. We have ordered Joy510.

Yep, this site is definitely a scam. It said "$8.95 for a risk-free trial" and it charged me US$250!! I lodged a dispute with my credit card provider. Don't buy cleansmoke!!!
