Default End of days - for real

END OF DAYS -- FOR REAL

I have been asked by Ed of E-ciggy to post this for us
see below this email for instructions from Ed......
----------------------------------------------------------

From: Keith Moyle [mailto:keith.moyle@dhs.vic.gov.au]
Sent: Wednesday, 31 December 2008 10:02 AM
To: Electronic Ciggy
Subject: Enquiry from Electronic Ciggy

I am writing to you in
relation to the sale or supply of electronic smoking
devices or electronic cigarettes containing nicotine intended for human use
.

I wish to inform you that the Minister for Health recently amended the
Victorian Poisons Code made under section 12 of the Drugs, Poisons and
Controlled Substances Act 1981 to include nicotine for human use when it is
included in Schedule 7 in Chapter 1 Part 2 List of substances that are not
for general sale by retail. The effective date of the amendment is 1 January
2009.

The effect of this is to prohibit from 1 January 2009 the sale or supply by
retail of nicotine for human use when it is included in Schedule 7. Retail
sale would constitute an offence against regulation 65 of Drugs, Poisons and
Controlled Substances Regulations 2006. Products affected include electronic
smoking devices or electronic cigarettes containing nicotine intended for
human use.

This brings Victorian controls into line with controls in other States and
Territories.

The Poisons Code can be found at
http://www.health.vic.gov.au/dpu/poicode.htm
The Drugs Poisons and Controlled Substances Regulations 2006 can be found at

If you require any clarification of the amendment or its effect, please
contact the Duty Officer, Drugs and Poisons Regulation Group on tel 1300 364
545.

Yours sincerely

Ed is understandably very upset
and not sure where this is all going to go,
but at this time --

IF YOU WANT LIQUID GET IT NOW.

ALL ORDERS MUST BE FINALIZED BY MIDNIGHT TONIGHT
ALL ORDERS MUST BE PAID BY PAYPAL.

ORDERS FOR E-LIQUID WILL BE STOPPED AT MIDNIGHT TONIGHT - 31-12-2008

What the future holds for E-ciggy and any other E-cigarette suppliers is anyones guess,

Australia is a colony of Great Britain, so is Canada, who will be next.........
UK …. Canada ….

Default already there

are all the other states already there .....

from the report posted below.....

This brings Victorian controls into line with controls in other States and Territories

does this mean it is already banned in all other states....

I think your right dikerry..after reading that email to ED again, theres no mention of just not selling to Victorians..may be a country wide king hit.

A snip from that link.
" This will ensure that unregulated nicotine delivery systems for humans are not supplied on the domestic market in any Australian State or Territory.'

wow , i just came from eciggy ,having made a bit of an order
looks like it is hitting the fan big time
i feel sorry for eciggy.com and anyone else really who was going in for the retail side of things , i contemplated it months ago but though to wait and see what happens , kind of glad i did
should still be ways and means of getting stuff , lots of things are illegal yet easy to obtain
i always thought that once the government realises the threat to taxation that ecigs are , that they would move in for the kill
all they care about is money

Just FYI, here's a copy of the email I sent to the NSW Health tobacco resources people today.

Quote:
Dear Resources Officer,

I read today about the state of Victoria banning the sale and use of 'battery-powered cigarettes', also known as 'electronic cigarettes' ( VICTORIAN BAN ON BATTERY-POWERED CIGARETTE - Premier of Victoria, Australia ). I have since read some rumours that similar bans are planned for NSW, and would like to know more about these plans, if indeed the rumours are true.

I have been using an electronic cigarette for three months now, and am concerned that if they are banned I may end up returning to smoking of tobacco products. I would like to know if there have been any studies conducted in Australia that have demonstrated health risks involved in 'e-smoking' that do not apply to other (in my experience, less successful) nicotine replacement methods like patches and gum. I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know if you are aware of any plans to ban the devices and refer me to someone who might be able to give me more information on the plans.

Kind Regards,
