    Default 510 Battery Life?

    Hi,

It's the end of my third day using the Joye 510. I love this thing.

I've got questions about the battery life.

I charged each one for 8 hours (one after the other)
used each one for 40 minutes, and then charged each one again for at least an hour.

For the first day or two I was getting something like 2 hours from each battery. But today, at the end of my third day I sat down to a fresh battery, pulled it off the charger and connected it, and have been reading this forum for the last 20 minutes -- completely chain vaping -- but now, barely 230 minutes later the battery is dead.

Is this typical? Or have I got a dud on my hands?

I already ordered the mega batteries from TW, they should be here day after tomorrow. Still it would be really nice to have batteries which last more than a few days, right?

What am I to learn from this?

Is the battery defective? Should I avoid chain vaping?
How long do the stock one's last for you? How do you do it?

Depends on what you consider chain vaping.

Some did the math and if you vape consistently, your battery should last 4.5 minutes but that's like a 4.5 minute draw. Not sure if this is right, but just what I heard.

So if you're going at it hard, it won't last long.

What I find is that if I need to go at my 510 that hard and that consistently, im not using strong enough juice. I like each draw to kick the crap out of me so I draw, then take a small break while I enjoy the vape

    Hope this helps

I gotta admit that I'm relatively new at this, and still grasping for satisfaction and escape from that nagging call of the analog.

I'll try slowing down, breathing deeper. If that doesn't work, then I'll consider bumping up my liquid's strength. I was a really heavy smoker, so maybe you're on to something here.

    Thanks!

I was a pack a day normal strength smoker. I find that 18mg is just right, 24mg is too much. Couple hits of 24mg and i'm spent lol.

I've been vaping 18mg for the last 3hrs and I have to say, i'm done now.

But a stronger juice will slow you down, at least from my experience.

    Enjoy the vape

    I seem to be a 24mg head.

My experience with 18mg is that I huff right through it all and suddenly it's 3am and I am walking out to the only all night market in my neighborhood to buy a pack of smokes.

I have to say that while 24mg seems to still the monster, I don't like the way it makes me feel -- fuzzy around the edges.

Maybe my next liquid purchase should be 18mg and I should make a serious effort to relax, slow down, and let my feet touch the ground once in a while.

Seems like there are a couple of issues here. First, your experience with the 510 battery is pretty comparable with mine. If I am sitting at the computer I can blow through a battery in 45 minutes easy. I was a 1.5-2 pack of full flavor camel smoker. As far a nicotine strength I started with 36mg and am now down to 24mg. It seems to me that when you first get these things you hit at them a lot because they are a.) a new toy, and b.) because you are used to dragging on regular cigarettes. Slow and long drags are the way to go. As far as quitting goes everyone is different but what worked for me was using the PV to cut down on the number of cigarettes first and then when you are comfortable dropping the tobacco all together. This way you can play around with the e-cig until you are used to it and don't have to add the stress of quitting to the learning curve, I was down to a pack a week after the first couple of weeks and thats when I quit for good. For me it would have been to hard to otherwise.

Get a nicorette (Nicotrol? sic) inhalator and use that occasionally as a pacifier maybe?

I'm totally off cigarettes now. I've had one or two in the last couple months, but I really thought they were disgusting.

But gatsby's description is really spot on. 45 minutes to completely kill the battery, huffing and puffing to still the monster.

Today I cut my 24mg liquid with VG 1-3 ratio and it made a very interesting difference. Loads more vapor, less flavor, and no more fuzzy. But I've been vaping lss because of the increase in actual vapor. Somehow the plumes of more durable vapor captivate me and I'm not so "desperate" in my drags.

I think my next purchase will be an 18mg or lower liquid. Or I may just continue to cut it myself with because the added vapor of the VG is so nice.

Thats what I do with my wifes. She likes it weak and low. About 12mg is good for her but I always buy the strongest nicotine I can then cut it with VG. Not only to increase vapor and cut nicotine, but to basically double my liquid amount.

Good to save extra money too
