Power surge killing off my pt's!?!

You will never be sorry you have the UPS. In fact, I have many. I work at home, so there are 4 in my office. Then I have two more on my audio/video stuff in the living room. And I have 4 more in various places throughout the house. Those last 4 are old ones that I moved out of the office after they needed their batteries replaced. I bought new ones for the office, and put new batteries in the old ones and use them wherever I have electrical stuff around the house.

I know this may seem weird. But we have a lot of storms in Oklahoma that cause power to surge or go completely off. It is really nice when the power goes out to still have a phone for a while, and lights. A couple of winters ago we had a 100 year ice storm, and even though I'm in a neighborhood with buried utilities, I was totally out of power for more than 2 days. I conserved UPS power, and was able to keep my phone going, keep a several lights (with compact fluorescent and LEDs) going, and a tiny portable tv, and fire up the laptop once in a while to see what was going on in the real world. Oh! And I kept the cell phone charged.

Hang in, and here's hoping you can get a good electrical consultation on your home soon so that you know what to do to get safer! Who knows? It might not be as overwhelming as it seems.

First off, I wouldnt plug anything computer or charging related into the same circuit with a microwave as they draw a massive amount of power. Second, get a voltage regulator and throw those surge protectors away. ComputerGeek.com has the regulators.

The surge protector red light is on meaning SURGE, green light meaning GROUND is not. This means this old house does not have a Ground Wire like newer homes. Newer homes have 3 prong outlets which mean they have 3 wires aka GROUND, the outlets in the house are 3 prong but they Don't have 3 wires, only two.

The comcast guys were getting 90-100 readings on everything that was plugged in, even the orange extension coord which should be around 0.

will be enough for my 750watt PSU gaming computer,Comcast Arris Voice modem, Linksys WRT54GL Wireless router,22 inch monitor,2 speakers with box,charging my e-cig batteries and using USB PT's?

I don't care about power outtages and how long these things will last during one, I just want my **** to work properly. My Comcast Arris Voice modem also has tons of issues resetting itself because of my electrical issues.
