Power surge killing off my pt's!?!

Batterys don't charge fully even when I leave them charging for 8+ hours.

One wall outlet connected via long orange extension coord, connects to a power brick that powers a Mini Frig, a 750w 80% effecient Corsair Power supply,4gigs ram,2.5ghz core 2 duo, gtx 260 videocard computer, then connects to another power grid with surge protector that powers a comcast voice modem, a linkysy router,speakers,22 inc wide screen moniter. Then I have another extension coord coming from a diffrent room into this room to power my other computer/monitor and a microwave because when everything was powered by the one outlet in this room, everything would die if I turned on the microwave.

So only one wall outlet that works in this room. Its an old house, I'm 98% sure the reason my PT's keep frying/batterys wont charge fully is because of the old shotty electricals of the house and all the crap that its powering it. I need to call an electrician asap but I'm sure I can't afford one right now!

Theres really nothing I can do about it right now. Any tips/tricks/ inexpensive fixes/suggestions, comments, anything please I need your help!

Sometimes I use this usb extension coord: Newegg.com - AMC 10 ft. White AM/AF USB2.0 Extension Cable Model CUS2-10MF - Cables

Do you see any issues?

A portable power pack might be able to keep you going while you're in that room. You might have bigger problems with all the other stuff running off one outlet, though. That could cause a fire.

i have an one of those dinky ipod chargers but they seem very flimsy, ive tried using it to charge my batteries and use with my PT's but its still connected to the main power source.

goodprophets has a heavier Kensington on their site, and I think I saw one in the classifieds for sale. I use a Duracell charger pack, and it holds up for a while. It's 5v, 1000m. I got it at Walmart for about $20.

I'd be more concerned about an electrical fire.

right now im not worried about fire, ive had this setup for years, couple months ago i separated the other comp and microwave so everything is much safer now.

So you say Duracell charger pack? how does it work? I charge the pack for few hours then I can plug in my PT and use it for what? 10 hours?

I only use mine for short periods between access to power. I keep in my turnout gear for nights when I'm on a fire scene and don't have outlets I can sit next to. I can try it tonight and see how long it will last on a full charge, if it'll help you out.

yes it will thank you, also found the $50 pack on buy.com,reading reviews it says there are other ones cheaper that do just as good a job so I'm still looking I guess but I am getting desperate here! I can't vape off half charged batterys!

edit: screw it i just ordered the kensington PPP from buy.com with 2 day fed ex shipping for $55, sweet deal even though my bank will add an extra $20 on top of the charge as an overdraft fee because I have 14 cents in my account haha who cares right? Economy is garbage and I'm glad I'm only $1400 in debt and not $80,000 due to credit cards like everyone else, /end rant.

Howdy and I hope you can fix your electrical problems. Others have already made good suggestions for you and the only other one I could offer was to try a simple surge protector or even an inexpensive UPS/battery backup power supply, the ones you can buy for your computer.

Most important is the safety of the environment you're living in. Never underestimate the dangers with electrical wiring and I understand that there really isn't anything you can do about it right now. Please just be careful.

Im not sure but i think my brain just had a power surge!! WOW. Im a "thingy" and "gizmo" and " its the part above the whirly thing that goes around and looks like a spaceship" kinda girl LOL
