6v mod too strong with rechargeable cr2s

My 6v mod vapes wonderfully with locally bought cr2s
but is way too hot/strong with the rechargeable type
kills the flavor and almost immediately achieves a burnt
flavor with smoke that burns nostrils.
Is there a way to lessen the strength of these batteries?

Mod gets really hot real fast and is killing my attys
can only hold button down for half second to keep
from getting too hot

Lot of folks find out the hard way through experimentation that "5v" is the sweet spot. 3.7 v is great on certain models whereas other models just don't get close to where you want to be.
6v for some models is just too strong of a current that just blows the taste of the juice and kills the overall experience.
5v meets right in the middle on most all units it is available in and most folks are happy with this. The GG 5v would probably be a fair middle ground.. a unit is really geared around the battery and the unit you purchased at 6v may only be available in that batt size. You might want to check and see if it can be adapted to 5v, as I am sure you would be more than satisfied with 5v performance. The reason you may be having a favorable turn-out with the store bought cr-2 is because of voltage drop that atually brings your performance to 5.4 v rather than 6.

you didnt indicate which atty type you're using. If you are using a 510 atty then it's going to get hot real fast at 6v. Many ppl use the 801 for 6v since it runs cooler.

you can check with the member NERF about his variable resistance attys. They are working very well for me, makes 6v vape like a 5volter which to me is a better voltage.

Using the 510 and 901 both are taking a beating.

I guess i will have to vape at 3.7 with the above atties
or break down every so often and get some weaker cr2s
but they can be expensive at 16.00 for 2

Lots of places have them cheaper than that. I've heard of people getting them for around $5-6 a pair at Walgreens, Target and some other places (I got a pair for $6 at B&H Photo in NYC).

BTW, are your rechargeable CR2's 3.0v or 3.7v? If the latter, that might explain why you don't like them as much.

Are rcr123a the same size as cr2?
The ones I bought for 16 are walgreens brand 14.99
plus tax. I found some at dinodirect for 3.50 a pair but
they take 3-4 weeks shipping time and don't last as
long as the more expensive ones.

CR2's are always 3V. CR123's can be 3V or 3.6V.

CR123's are physically larger than CR2's
