How'd the alkalines work out for you? I'm planning that into this as an emergency backup in case you out, your batteries die and caught without a charged set of batteries.

Lowes (not sure if they are us wide but are like home depot) has a set of 4 rechargeable ray-o-vac NiMh for 5 bucks (or may have been Walmart, it was 7 months ago ).

The charger I have cost about 30 dollars but it is worth it when you can charge your batteries in 15 minutes at home or in the car.

Here is the charger I use...

    thanks puck

i went to the dollar store and picked up some very cheap one's last night, and ive been vaping all last night and today, and they're still going strong.
I'm using a 4081 atty though, and im not sure about the resistance on it. so not sure if it would last as long with a 901

nm spoke too soon, the first set just bit the dust.

That's still good for akalines though. I'm pleased. Good for an emergency backup.

I have a 4081 tucked away in my vapebox (my first e-cig). I'll test the resistance when i get home because you have my curiosity raised now

awesome, ive tried just about every atomizer out there and i have to say that i like the 4081 the best. my current ones been going for like five or six months at six volts, and still vapes like its brand new.

ps. if you want to try using it again, metal tire caps have the perfect threading for making a connector

Well I just tested and and they range from 3.1. to 3.3 ohms. Looks like a good candidate for the Puck mod. It is about the same as a 901 atomizer so it should behave about the same as far as battery life.

So if anyone is wanting to build the Puck or any version like it, looks like the 4081 atomizer resistance could be a good fit besides the 901 atomizer. The only problem will be the connector. You can't get that at Radio Shack but one can be had at different places online or by tearing an old 4081 battery apart or a metal tire cap as Johnny Bobcat has mentioned (Thanks JB).

The 901 connector for the Puck can be had at Radio Shack along with all of the other parts it needs..
