I've used that solution but it can be a bit dangerous. If the solder comes loose during atomizer adjustments you are pretty much guaranteed a short.

I use the phono jack with #10 brass thread and a 1/4" tube (both available cheap at home depot). By leaving the full thread available it seems to cover all atomizers without issue.

I got lucky and managed to find some jacks for 2 for a buck so total cost per connection was sitting around 0.60 total

    Hello...

I have 2 generic 801 atomizers and I’m looking for a connector that fits perfectly, because I have no batteries to grab the original connector.

    What’s the best?

The part from car adapter or the 1/4" phone jack?

How can I make the hole to give a space to air flow inside the middle of the connector?

    Thanks.

Nerf is now selling the fitting that they use in the DSE 801. I think they are $3 each and $2 shipping no matter how many you order. I gave up on the car adapter when I found an inexpensive source for the original.

I found two cell phone chargers with similar tips on them. Sadly to say they didn't work for the 801 pen atomizer.

    Almost tho!

I went to Lowes and tried pluming 1/4 threads sadly a no go also....

So I made my own connector, but it would of been easier just to order them.

I took a 1/4" phone jack from Radio Shack, and then took a RCA Jack, just the sides off. Screwed in a pen stile which fit like a charm. Then when the RCA jack hit the center I soldered on the negative leads to the wire, and then also to the ground on the side of the RCA jack.

    Worked like a Charm!

I saw this thread before getting in my car so I tried the one for my GPS power cable...snug fit, and looking inside it appears that the middle does not touch.

Wow...I knew there was a reason I picked up the 30+ car chargers on clearance from Kroger. At $0.69 each I couldn't pass them up... even if I was never going to use them! Now I have a use! Woot!

I hate to do this but I have to. What does this accomplish? Sorry, I'm sure it's painfully obvious...
