How do you measure the ohm - we just checked our Best ecig 801 and it shows 2.6ohm? Also , does the measurement stay stable throughout the life of the atomizer or degrades?
PS also sorry to confuse you ..you're right RN4072 is the penstyle

its been a while since I had that one..and mixed it up with RN4075 mini901..!
Looks like i check them the same way as you, i mean there is only one way. I can believe that a best ecig 801 is 2.6. They say the generics make better vapor than the real ones. Can't say for sure though, i don't use an 801 for anything anymore. It explains why more 801 atomizers pop on 6V than 901 atomizers.
As for the resistance changing with use i have not found that to be the case. It stays fairly constant until death although if you check resistance when the atomizer is hot the resistance is slightly higher. Just like a light bulb, blows when you turn it on cold not after it is up and running.

Thanks, GotiT..
It explains why we do get a slight burnt taste on the generic 801s already with 1x 3.7V batts..and have to be careful !..with this calculation , it would make no sense to go to a 6V (2xCR2 3.0) mod for a generic 801..?

Not necessarily IMO everybody is in search of something different. To some the heat and throat hit is what they are after. Others it is cool and taste. When going after throat hit and monster vapor you are not going to get there at 3.7 volts with a 801. With that being said how much vapor is enough. 3.7 volts will already create more vapor that an analog cigarette on a 901 and 510. With the larger diameter of the 801 atomizer more current flow is needed to heat the air space and coil to create the throat hit. This comes at an expense of having to feed it, burn more juice to keep the coil from overheating and popping. But that is what some are looking for. It's all a variable.

Thats pretty accurate and mimics what I have found. I run 401 and 901's at between 4.6 and 5.2v and I run the 801's between 5.2 and 6.0v. The 801 uses a lot more juice but gives a really solid throat hit with very satisfying vapour.
I find that they will all burn juice if not fed properly (I drip) and that the only real difference is how much each requires to be kept from giving a burning taste. The 801 at 6.0v gives the best overall hit by far but it comes at a cost of a large increase in juice being used.
The downside to this is, once you get used to the hit from a 6.0v 801 its pretty hard to dial back down to the others.

Out of curiosity have you ever tried using a cart at that voltage. I myself have never went to 6.0v i am more a taste fellow and have to use carts is i don't have the time to be dripping just to vape. I burn cart material at 3.7 volts on a 510 all the time and it does not taste good.

I gave up on carts pretty quick. The idea of inhaling plastic wasn't all that appealing. If I had no choice and had to use carts I would definitely stick with cooler temps...probably an 801 since the cart is large and vapour tends towards the cooler side. Given the problems with carts feeding the liquid from the bottom of the cart at lower voltages, I can only imagine how much worse it would be when the liquid is burned off the top at an accelerated rate.
Short answer...no way I'd use carts at higher voltages

The labor involved in making the atomizer adaptor, the price of brass stock, the 510 being a female connector make it the actual end piece of the mod would all lead mass producing this item cost prohibitive on a lathe. You would need a C&C to get cost down. On those reasons i guess i would have to decline making a few extra.
Sorry

Does that mean your not going to make me a 510 SD?

That means i cannot mass produce the battery connector of a 510. There are so many dud automatic switched batteries out there they should be easy to find.
If you are looking for a SD you would have to get that from Trog. I have made a few 901 Romisen mods but they were just for friends and family. I would not think of selling those. That is Trogs department.
Now if you are talking about my 510 Romisen mod. PM me and we can talk about that.
