Thread: new vv flashlight

    Default new vv flashlight

    So here's my new and inproved vv flashlight using the ti 8100 chip.No tact swicth this time the led is inside and a clear cap to view the electronics. It is a 9 led 3 aaa .99 cent flashlight.

    Is that one of those free sample switching regulators?
    Is schematic posted somewhere?
    Touch switch?
    Any more pics handy?

    Yes I got form texa ins samples,same schematic as the ever cool mod but no caps or extra resistor on the the trimmer. only have these other pics, but think I'm building another one tomorrow night.So I'll take some more.The switch is the click click on the light.Had to many problems stuffing a little tact switch in there.

    wow boomer... that is very neat. I need to try a tube mod next.

    Works fine w/o the caps?

    Emus yeah works fine w/o cap they are for filtering and smothing out voltage. Atty and cartos don't really care much about that stuff. Not putting the extra resistor is cause I used a 500 ohm trimmer.

    I made some AC to DC power supplies for sound equipment and the caps helped reduce unwanted noise and stabilize voltage.
    The current from batt should be clean in comparison to AC source.
    If I find the time for another DIY mod I may just omit the caps as well.
    Unless I learn different.

    So simple to drop that resistor out by increasing the ohms on the trimmer used. Love it.
    I do what I want. Sometimes there's consequences.
