Default The Fist Pack/Mobile Power Univeral Charger

    Hello,

Here is a video on the Mobile Power Universal Mobile Charger battery pack, aka. Fist Pack.

I intended to mod this battery pack for a while and just modified this battery supply last night with a DSE901 connector, with some assistance from Kinabaloo. Have a look at the video, hopefully you'll be inspired to try this battery mod, and make the flashlight mod a thing of the past.

    Part two:

I'll demonstrate the how to's later with an RN4081 connector. Here's a link to where to purchase one. 2200mAh Mobile Power Lithium-ion Battery Phone MP3/MP4 - eBay (item 220402222514 end time Jul-22-09 23:41:16 PDT)
I would love to order the different colors it advertises, so if anyone can find this particular battery pack elsewhere, please post a link.

After modding and bypassing whatever it is that is inhibiting the full amperage of the 18650 battery. The output to the connector is beyond 1amp at 4.2v, not 5v and 0.6amps. Great throat hit, good vapor.

Sorry about the kids whining in the background! lol, The wife was having to put them in headlocks!lol Just kidding!

Okay done! Hopefully the videos can be viewed. This is why I leave the video making to other people! Gosh, such a task for me!

Glad that you find it helpful.

Again, I don't recommend wiring directly to the battery since it is unknown if the battery itself is protected, but the device itself is. So wiring directly to the battery, may not be detected by the circuit board in the event of over draining the battery. I used the positive leg of a capacitor and wired directly to the negative end of the battery.

Or, one could purchase and replace with known protected rechargeable 18650 batteries for the peace of mind.

Pay no mind to the excessive wires left. I left them there in case I decide to add a dedicated power button and on/off switch.

To quickly sum up from the previous thread, the original current limitation is due to the circuit upping the battery voltage to the 5v needed for usb ouput at 5v.

By connecting before this conversion (but after the battery protection) one can get the full power capability of the battery.

Positive terminal of the smaller of the two large capacitors. The one on the right in the photo above, nearest to the battery. The capacitors are the round black-sleeved things. The negative of the capacitor has a bold white line on that side of the black sleeve; solder the positive atty wire to the other side, on the circuit board (don't overheat, and visually check for a good contact and no shorts).

Exactly, which I have done. The more I vape from it, the more I love this mod.

I'd say you have created one of the best mods here, especially among those that can be easily replicated.

Good vapor production evident from the video - and without really trying
