Latest PVMA Mod:
Used the RCA connector with a switch in it so I dont need to put one in the battery case, thanks for the idea nick76! Case connector in effect is always "hot", here it is:
Well works great and I can make the battery case faster since I dont have to put the switch in! woohooo

Ok this is the fastest mod I have ever made
I bought 2 mini single cell AAA mag lights, I the removed the lens, reflector and light bulb holder. I then took a RCA jack (Female) and a pair of pliers and threaded the upper portion where the light bulb holder was. I removed it and did the second one with the same RCA jack, yes it scratched it up real good, but I am at work and not with my tools, so I sacrificed one RCA jack for this. I then took 2 good RCA jacks and screwed them in flush.
Then I put the top back on:
And when viewed from the side, you dont see the connector:
Final product, I can now use the switch connector from the last post with this baby battery mod that uses the 10440 battery. No soldering, just put the battery in and the RCA jack center post touches the battery. The shell acts as the ground. No soldering. These took me 10 minutes to make! But you must use the modified RCA connector with the micro tactile switch shown.
Well thats it.
Dan
ADDED:
Here is a picture showing the voltage after putting the "standard battery" back in 1.602vdc. No soldering, just screw the RCA jack into the top body of the mini mag.
TADA!
ADDED:
For the protected 10440 batteries you must cut the tip of the center post of the RCA connector:
So it looks like this:
Thats it!

Scubabatdan - Do you have a link on making the RCA connector with the switch in it? I have 3 of those mini flashlights just sitting here waiting to be done. And where are you finding the protected batteries for it?
Thanks for any help
I will work on one...
On the 10440 protected I got 6 from Cisco, he had a LOT of 10440 protected made, PM him here: e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat - View Profile: Cisco
Alternate 10440 Protected AAA size Batteries from vaprlife
Hope this helps,
Dan
Thanks Scubabatdan. I will PM Cisco. Do you know where I can find info on the RCA connector with the switch in it?
Sweet. I can't wait to get mine done.
How to make an RCA switch!
Here is a list of items you will need to complete this tutorial:

A dremel tool with cut off wheel
A Soldering Iron
Thin copper wire
Drill and drill bits
Patience
First assemble all of the things you need.
Take the PC board and cut a piece out 2 holes wide by 5 holes long, this is where the dremel tool cutoff wheel comes in handy, other wise it will crack and break:
Take the thin wire and strip off the covering, wrap it through the end holes in a figure X pattern, as such:
Now solder the wire on the ends to look like this:
Next take the tactile switch and bend the opposite corners up, so two opposites are down and two are bent up, the ones bent up cannot touch the board, this will cause a constant short:
Now take the board with the wired soldered x ends and solder the switch to it:
Lay the connectors inline as they would be assembled with the switch behind them, mark a dot on the center barrel that the switch lines up so when it is assembled the switch lines up with the hole. Notice I had to cut an 1/8 of an inch off the switch so it would go into the barrel tube. Only trim off enough to allow it to go into the barrel:
Now drill the end of the RCA connector out with a drill, and drill the hole for the button:
You should have four pieces ready to go together:
Press the battery connector into the barrel, and slide the switch assembly into place, once everything fits properly, use some plastic shim material (ejuice safety ring bent in half) and push it under the switch assembly:
Screw on the RCA male adapter and check for continuity, the two x’s we soldered on each end of our board makes contact with the center pole on both the RCA jack and the battery connector. You should only get continuity between the RCA center pole and center of the battery connector when the button is pushed
Well that is it, this is a modular system so if the switch burns out, I can unscrew it and pull the board out and replace the switch, then put it back together. Final product!
Hope this helps!

How can I connect to a 510 atty? I want to build a rechargable 5v usb but cannot find a suitable connector from local suppliers for the 510.
