    Colleagues, if you use a small rare earth magnets for contacts, do you solder them? Or what?

    P.S. I also found out these magnets useful for contacts: http://www.supermagnete.de/eng/magne...up=countersunk

    Dual Boosters, of course.

    Nah, it's 8 wraps and the one in the middle is 2.7Ω.

    Slimest, They can break under high heat conditions, but I use a small cheap crimp on connector (tin maybe) on a wire, soldered for better longetivity, and then stick the magnet to that. That in turn sticks to a battery for example. Also, you can press fit them into the right sized hole, or glue them in place. Cabinet makers use the ones you linked to screw onto wood. Searching 'ring magnets' in ebay will give all sorts of sizes.

    @slimest:
    I soldered a little piece of a tinplate at the + wire, put it on the magnet and fixed this "sandwich" with Power knead at the bottom of the pipe

    derJuF, according to description, this glue is insulator. Did you try the connection resistance under load?

    Kinda tough to do as they tend to demagnetize from the heat.

    You are right, and of course there is no glue between the tinplate and the magnet, just to hold down both parts at the bottom of the pipe

    A few more pics, showing some construction details would be helpful.
