Colleagues, if you use a small rare earth magnets for contacts, do you solder them? Or what?

Slimest, They can break under high heat conditions, but I use a small cheap crimp on connector (tin maybe) on a wire, soldered for better longetivity, and then stick the magnet to that. That in turn sticks to a battery for example. Also, you can press fit them into the right sized hole, or glue them in place. Cabinet makers use the ones you linked to screw onto wood. Searching 'ring magnets' in ebay will give all sorts of sizes.

I soldered a little piece of a tinplate at the + wire, put it on the magnet and fixed this "sandwich" with Power knead at the bottom of the pipe![]()

derJuF, according to description, this glue is insulator. Did you try the connection resistance under load?
