Hmm, I thought I had posted on the same thread that search found, maybe not. Anyway I have had success using a 1/4 inch drive extension. Once the battery is out push in extension and hold battery case with one hand and using a small hammer, tap extension with the other. This has worked with two batts and even a few attys with recessed bridges. It was a complete failure with my 510 PT however and I ended up using a tube cutter on it. It seems that if a fitting is just pressed in it works but if glued in, no way.
