Default Built another couple of 3.7v box mods

Well I got some of my stuff from China today so I put together a couple of box mods. One for the wife and of course another for me.

This one is for the wife. I used a Health E-Cigarette charger connector. It is like the 401 but not as deep so the atty will not screw all the way down. As is has a hex head I didn't bother with the RCA connector.

And I built this one for me with a recessed RCA connector

They look different now that everything is glued in, but you get the idea.

    Thanks for looking

you should see them now after the gorilla glue
But they both work fine. I have to progress to something harder, these are just too easy. I have some ideas and some more stuff ordered so stay tuned

    Very nice work Burnie!

You want harder?, do a flashlight and then you should move on to something you find suitable to be modded

BTW, I had my cold heat sitting in a closet half finished mod.
After all the push posted about it, I decided to finish it, impossible to do a step by step since it depends on what each one wants to do with it. On mine I used a 6 mm contact switch under the original slide switch cover so you can't tell there is a new one.

I don't understand all the fuzz about it since it is a monster size and with the 4 batteries its also heavy. It does vape really good (I'm using it with regular not rechargeable), but the size is just too much for me and I have mods that vape as good.

I can't wait to see what you will do next Burnie, keep it up.

    Well I'm glad you asked
I am going to TRY to do the Cold Heat Soldering Iron as a 5v mod. I am going to use 4ea 14500 batteries and a regulator, 2 pair in series, each pair in parallel. Not sure if this is possable but it is an idea I was thinking about. It shipped today from GA to FL so I should have it the first of the week to look at and see if it is even possible. I also have some 16340 & 18650 batteries and stuff coming from China, not sure what I'll do with them, but I'll figure it out

I am not sure it will work as I don't have the Cold Heat Soldering Iron in my hands taken apart, but that is my plan. Once I get it those plans may change. At worst it will be 5v with only 2 batteries, I am sure I can make that work, but I want to do it with 4.

Very nice work, very clean solder job to. In the mean time you may want to add some LED's to them. It is only slightly harder and they do look cool in the dark, they also blink once and go out when the battery goes dead. It can be frustrating if you buy a bunch in a bag at RS cause some work and somer don't, I found that out after superglueing one in the box. I have been thinking about the laser mod myself. I have been using a clear epoxy because I had some but it makes for a clean looking job when finished and dries in minutes.

Yea it is not a perfect fit, but it is a use for these Health E-Cigarette chargers and attys, because they are total crap. Guess we all made some purchase mistakes when we started. I ordered 5 of them because they were cheap, 3 were DOA, which I did get a refund on and didn't have to send back. I just kept reading about the 401 and 510 screwing together and tried it one day. Going to try to take apart one of the attys next, just have to go buy another dremmel tool because I can't find mine anywhere.
