If there's a silver ring behind the lights, it unscrews. If there isn't you push them through the tube out the top. Takes a bit of a whack.

    Younggunner--

There is a metal ring holding the led circuit board he top. You need a small precision type screwdriver to put in the hole of the metal ring and then with a little force unscrew it.

EDIT: I destroyed the first flash light. I tried to get the board with the leds off and the screw driver I was pounding with a hammer punched a hole right through the board. I ruined one- Im going to get another right now. Luckily Harbor Freight is giving them away for free- no purchase necessary. If anyone wants the coupon let me know and you too can get a free LED flash light and tell me how to get the LED board out of it with out destroying it.

I use a socket that is attached to a screwdrive handle- cheap socket- allready on a screwdriver handel. Just stick it socket end into fl and smack with hammer.

Robert- Your detonator mod is by far one of the coolest mod IMO. I am trying my hardest to build one but I can't even dis-assemble the damn flash light (not starting off so well).

Thanks, wait till you see the new ones- 2 LED's- Green for power lock out ON and Red for atty activation "Cherry Simulation"

I do have a couple of other questions for you Robert-
First off I am a complete newb to modding- the amount of experience I have is I built a NicoStick- which is about as basic as it gets.

    1. How does the regulator work- meaning is it needed for 3.7v along with 5v (I know its necessary for 5v)- but lets say I want to build a 6v and 3.7v dentonator- do I still need a regulator for the build? Is it possible to build a 6v/3.7v detonator with out a voltage regulator?

    tHE

6 VOLTS? I use 2 CR2's the y are 3.6 volts each at full charge No regulator required for that- but it will be 7.2 not 6 volts with 2 CR2's and 3.7 volts with a 14500 or what ever- I WILL NEVER VAPE AT 3.7 VOLT IMO IT'S A BORING WAISTE OF TIME!

How does the regulator work? It pulses on and off 32x a second, taking anything from up to 9 volts down to exactly 5 volts

    2. How do you achieve 3.7v with for your detonator mods? In your setup with 5v and 3.7 do you need a separate regulator for each voltage?

The Detonator does not work at 3.7- IT IS A 5 VOLT MOD ONLY.

    3. I only have rcr123a, 18650, 10440 bats (I'm about to order some 14500 tonight) is it possible to use rcr123a bats for this mod if I could get them to fit? I just thought of this- The flash light that I got has 3 AAA bats in one of those tri-holders- I was thinking what if I replaced the AAA bats with 3 10440 and use a regulator to keep the voltage down?

3 10440? what are those? RCR123's will not fit!
Only 2 CR2's will fit in this mod.

    Thanks

Here is the Flash Light I'm using: - Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

I put my answers in Red in the quote- hope this helps.

BTW- sorry Robert- I don't know where I got the 3.7v from- I thought it was 3.7v or 5v. And the cr123a bats are 3v not 3.7 or 3.6

I have spent the past two hours looking for this hole to unscrew the metal ring inside the flashlight holding the LED board to the top- any other insight?

there is no hole? I knock the whole thing out with a hammer! Watchg the video!

or if FL is from DX it might unscrew in the middle- if so knock it out there- then there will be a ring - be care full not to distroyu- you'll need this later.

Opus- looking good is that 5 volt - 1 LED? Nice!

Naw, just 3.7 using a single 14500. I thought about going 5v but at the time I wasn't able to fit it in I could do it now but I really prefer working with the battery box styles.
