Do you know if this was just a random sale at your local store, or if it's available at any RadioShack?

i don't have a clue its not on the online store ill check a diferant one probably today.

here's an update on how the mod works it works good but.... if you have a messed up atty it will throw a safety in the board some where and it requires you to plug it in to reset it.

I assume so, and that's primarily why I'm looking at it. Heading out to RS now to see if it's a chain-wide sale or not.

yes it works great as a power supply for a pass through i just attached my pass through to it.

My local RadioShack didn't have the PPUMINI-K, but they had the PPUMINI-M. It says 5VDC, 500mA max, and 2.5wH, so I guess it's the smaller version? It was on sale for $12.99. I picked one up, but it doesn't seem to be as good a deal.
