    Default 901 batt/SD to Loongtotem adaptor..Done !

Right well I was asked by DC2k08 to do another adaptor for the Screwdriver for him after he nabbed my original classic adaptor this time he was after a loong totem to 901/screwdriver adaptor.

Dc sent me all the parts and a little extra for my effort ( lovely stuff btw, cola is fantastic, cheers DC ) anyway cracked on with it today. Again im not going to do a "how-to" because
    (a) I can't summarise so it'll be too much detail. and
    (b) I too lazy
    (c) you wanna know summin...you can ask
so I took plenty of pics and posted 'em below with a little explaination.
The only issue I really had was the loong totem battery connector was a little smaller diameter than the 901 atomizerit was going into so it wasn't an interference fit, luckily i hade some 0.001" engineering shim so i used that and adhesive to get a real good tight and secure fit.

    so off we go.
    Pic 1.

donor atomizer cut , black bit left over , silver piece thread remains. This will attach to the Screwdriver or 901 battery. Next to that is the centre contact and in the forground is the loong battery connector.

    Pic2.

you can see how loose the loong totam battery connector was, just slid in nicely but needed a tight fit.

    Pics 3 - 7 .

Soldering and reassmbly of the 901 connector. Wires taken from various pen batteries.

I used 4 wires in total rather than the stock 2.

    Pic 8.

The loong totem battery connector disassembled and ready for soldering. This will connect the the loong totem atomizer carts.

    Pics 9 & 10 .

Loong totem battery connector soldered and reassembled. I check for continuity at this point making sure the circuit is correct and not shorting out. At least at this stage i can correct any wiring errors.

continued next post 15 image max reached ..pffff !!!

    Pics 11 - 18 .

All gratuitous finished item , works fine on the SD and the 901 battery vacum switch.

Much the same process as any adaptor for the Screwdriver or any other atomizer/battery combo really.

DC , this will be heading to a letterbox near you soon

Wow, that was fast..Looks very cool ApO, Thank-you very much and the pics of demonstration are excellent - very clear, though lost on me as I know I would not be able to manage it, even if I knew what '0.001" engineering shim' is..ha. Note to anyone who has never tried soldering: It's definitely no stroll in the park...good thing we have apostles in the world who very graciously offer to help a fudger (me) out.

I must say too, it looks very svelte attached to a 901 battery. I'll be Looking forward to using this..Thanks again mate!

no probs DC, I enjoyed the tinkering and it's another of my little "i can do that" boxes ticked.

and ye , looks kinda nice on the 901 battery and measuers about 5mm shorter overall than a complete 901.
Might even knock on up for myself with the extra's you sent. you'll have to let me know the best place to get loong totem carts.

hmm, I'm just trying to think..There are not so many options...I don't know of any in the UK anyway. I sourced mine from the belly of the dragon itself but I would never advise it as they are in the habit of charging outrageous shipping fees..
Looks like Cigatronic do them in France at €2 a pop which isn't bad..

I can't find anyone else. I did think there was a Dutch supplier once but I can't find them now..Their prices were steep though.

yup , they have a great feel in the hand and ofcourse with a little time and know how , will take virtually any atomizer.

Zeke , all i know is the loong totem carts on the screwdriver threw out huge vapour , as for longevity , we'll have to let DC answer that when he gets it
