Halo Triton Redux

Further thoughts on the Halo Triton.

So, I love this thing. I love it so much that my juice consumption has doubled or tripled since I got it. Oodles of thick, flavorful vapor that feels great in the mouth and tastes great going down. I've mostly been vaping Tribeca in the tank, sometimes switching out with the SI RY4. The Tribeca has more of a perfume-y aldehyde note, and a sharper throat hit, while the RY4 is simpler, but smoother.

The tank is holding up well, though it started getting a little fiddly after I changed the coil. I've since learned that Kanger T2s (basically what the Halo tank is) are pretty notorious for needing some tinkering. The coil head, for instance, comes loose when you unscrew the mouthpiece, so you need to tighten it up a little before screwing the mouthpiece back on. I've had a few times when the tank wasn't firing, and I had to a tighten or loosen the mouthpiece, or the coil, or the tank on the battery, to get it working again. Never took more than a minute and seems to happen about every other time I refill it.

I'd also note that the replacement wicks are not quite the same as the original ones-- the originals had six wicks, one thick and two thin on each side. The new coils are still long-wicked, but its just the two thick ones. I have not noticed a change in vapor production though, so I'm quite satisfied.

Smokeless image sells a bottom coil T3 tank for their X2 and spinners, which I believe are threaded the same as the Triton (Kr-808d/V-go). I've been thinking about getting SI's x2 pass-through, so I may try one of those and see if I like the bottom coil, too.
