How to effectively use a Kanger T3 clearomizer?

I started vaping about a year ago and my first kit was the eGO kit that came with a 1100 mAH battery and a Kanger T3 clearomizer. I remember, when I was a newbie, I hated the Kanger T3 because it used to gunk up, give burning taste and leaked ejuice. However, I continued to use the clearomizer on my eGO batteries and slowly, with time, I discovered the best way to use it. And now, I can proudly say that I have not yet found any other clearomizer/cartomizer that can match the capabilities of a T3. Here are a few tips that can help you understand how to use this clearomizer effectively. Some of these tips include my personal experiences and some are taken from other users' experiences from the internet (mainly, Youtube):

  1. Always, clean a clearomizer/cartomizer when you take it out of the packing. Never use it without cleaning. There may be some residue left from the factory.
  2. Do not give dry hits, instead, disassemble it if you wish to dry burn it with a torch. I'm not sure if that is necessary because I never dry burnt mine and they work absolutely fine. Some people like to dry burn the silica wick inside the head, so do that on your own discretion.
  3. Silica wicks are used to gunk up really quick. So you should take a couple of precautions while using a T3. First, NEVER begin vaping on a T3 with higher voltage. Try to stay low, you will enjoy your T3 for a very long time. Begin with a lower voltage and if it is not working for you, increase the voltage slowly and adjust it up/down while vaping too. Secondly, clean your clearomizer regularly. At least, once a day! T3s get gunked up very quickly, so it is a good practice to clean it regularly.
  4. Cleaning: There are different methods used to clean T3s. Many people use vodka, dry burn and other such techniques to remove the gunk from it. However, all I do is, put the head (without disassembling the head) under a water jet. The thing just cleans up really quick. I also use compressed air to dry it up after cleaning it. Then I pour juice in it and let it rest for about 5 minutes so that the wick takes enough liquid and be ready for whole-day vaping.
  5. There's a wonderful technique I've discovered recently. I fill up my T3s only to the level that is sufficient for one day vaping. I normally consume about 2 ml a day, so I fill it up to that mark only. The reason, when we vape on a T3, the juice burns and some juice is leaked back into the tank. Also, the gunk gets mixed with the juice in the tank. You can tell this by the discoloring of the juice by evening. And, I have to go on higher volts to stay up with the vapor/flavor. It gets really annoying when you have to take deeper drags for satisfaction. So fill it up as much as needed. If you vape more than 2 ml in a day, you can use more T3s and rotate them throughout the day.
  6. Acidic Juices: I have heard some citric juices can affect the plastic tank. I didn't believe it until I had an experience with a particular juice. The tank didn't crack but it did show discoloration from the inside. Oh well, try not to use such juices in a T3.
  7. Leaking: I have read enough reviews/discussions about a T3 leaking. If you use 100% PG or a higher PG ratio juice, it will leak if there's room to leak. You may be unlucky to have a T3 that may not be properly built and the clearomizer may leak while vaping. But if you use 100% VG or a higher VG ratio juice, it will not leak. I have tried 70 PG / 30 VG juice and it leaked. Then I tried 80 VG / 20 PG juice, it did not leak. So, if you ever find leakage problems with this or any other clearomizer, it may be because of higher PG ratio in your juice.
  8. Rebuilding: T3 clearomizers can be rebuilt easily. There are a few videos on Youtube that can show you how to rebuild a Kanger T3. Just watch the videos, I can't tell you how to rebuild because I've never rebuilt one lol.

The above mentioned steps are a mix of my personal experience and other users' experience. Kanger T3s are my favorite clearomizers so far. But please do remember, clearomizers/cartomizers tend to gunk up sooner or later. As you go on vaping for days and weeks on a Kanger T3, its vaping capabilities will drop for sure unless you rebuild it up using a new set of coil, wick, etc. I hope these tips will help you in taking care of your T3. If you know of any other tips and tricks, please share by commenting below. Thanks.

Thanks qorax, I'm glad you liked my Kanger T3 tips. I have ordered a few other vaping products and I'll review them here when I receive them. Waiting for the mailman to ring my door bell :)
