Okay, so here is the basic recipe for Pastitsio-
uqa8a8u6.jpg

So you are going to boil and drain the pasta. In a skillet, brown the ground meat with the garlic and onion.
In one bowl mix the tomato sauce with the cinnamon, mint leaves, oregano and pepper.
In another bowl whisk eggs with nutmeg, then mix macaroni in it before you pour it in your pre greased pan.
Once you have browned and drained your meat, add the tomato mixture and simmer for ten minutes.
In a separate pan, melt butter then add flour, whisking constantly for about a minute then add milk and stir fairly frequently at medium heat until sauce starts to thicken, about 6 minutes.
Take your tomato-meat mixture and place it over your noodles in the pan. Over that pour your gravy mixture.
Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over whole dish and place in preheated oven.
Bake for 30-40 minutes at 350°
Enjoy!!

~~~chapel's tweaks:
Double ground beef, tomato sauce, onion, garlic and other spices.
Increase macaroni from 1 cup to 1 1/2.
Double amounts to make white sauce.
Bake in a 9x13 pan if you use these adjustments, 9x9 pan if you don't.
This served seven, (six big people and one little person), and Everyone but the baby went for seconds! My way should have served closer to 9 with my adjustments but there was not Anything left after dinner!
On my phone as usual...
