I started out about 3 years ago with Ego hardware. Over the next year I went to Riva batteries and found the lifespan and cost of the integrated battery & switch was more than I wanted to spend and went to replacable cells in the form of an E-Power. Once I found that to work well, I bought a 2nd unit - still using both. The only other hardware (other than carts & tanks) I went for was a Gripper due to the stealth factor. All along the ways, I would read reviews for various bottom feeders, variable voltage, variable wattage and the almighty Provari with stars in my eyes.
Bottom line is that I started this adventure primarily to save money. As I've gotten older (and poorer) I'm much better at walking away from temptation. So even though I have put a Vamo in my cart on numerous occasions, I still haven't clicked to buy.
With juices I started off buying from the less expensive vendors, but it was clear that juice was larger percentage of the total cost. I quickly went to DIY and I can say I can concoct juice that I find is as good or better than what I used to get premixed.
I just wanted to point out to those who may be just starting out that once you get over the novelty of personal vaporizers and find what works for you, this is just another habit with recurring costs. For me at least, the object is to keep those costs under control and I do that by not buying into each incremental innovation and to be satisfied with what I have as long as it works.
I know there are folks out there with large disposible incomes that this is not an issue but I would like to hear how others fare.
