Vaping has set me free!

Posted 07-28-2009 at 02:49 AM by Bunni
My husband said he'd never have a girlfriend who smoked, then he met me...lol and he has made some comment about my smoking every day for the past 10 years!! Even on the phone, he would hear me light up, and fake a little cough. I only smoked in one room of our house, and I was never allowed to smoke in his car, except one time when he'd picked me up after day knee surgery.

I started smoking when I was 16. I didn't do it cus it was cool, or cus my friends were doing it. I had struggled with weight issues all my life and had heard smoking helps kill your appetite, and what I heard was correct.

I smoked Menthol's first, and then settled on Marlboro Box Regulars.

I remember thinking as I watched cigarette prices rise, that if they ever got to $1/per pack, I'd be done. LOL

Somewhere in the late 80's I started smoking lighter brands, Merits, Vanguard, Parliament, True, Now, Misty, and quit smoking altogether for 2 years from 1994 - 1996. I started smoking Jack's Ultra Lights, and then Basic Ultra Lights. Sometimes some Dorals. In these more recent years, Basic Ultra Lights were my first choice. And then, they increased in price again. Here in PA a carton of my fav Basic's are $50.

A little more than 3 months ago I quit again. I used the patch, successfully, but I was missing the ritual. I found myself reaching for the non-existant pack, and the non-existant ashtray.

Then I found this forum for the second time. I had seen it before, and browsed a bit. I think my first time around, I briefly looked at the cost of some of the starter kits and saw $150, or a bit less. It turned me off...but like i said, I found myself here again.

I started reading everything. I thought this was going to be the thing that I needed. The hubby was cool with it. I decided what I wanted was a 510.

The day this arrive here, I was in Heaven! Suddenly I felt free! I could vape anywhere in my house. I could vape in front of my husband's antique radios. I could vape in front of him! I could vape in his car!

It was freeing physically, but also, this is what I thought a cigarette should have been. Light and fresh tasting (I use ECOpure), slightly sweet, and delightful. The sweetness almost reminded me of Peter Jackson's my dad brought me a couple of times from Canada. But they were so strong. There isn't a harsh taste to these. I like that I can control what goes in it. I vape very low nicotine. I will eventually vape 0 nic juice.

I've gotten to make some of my own flavored juice now too. So far, apple, and pralines and cream are favorites. I am still deciding on the mint chocolate, which is more of a dry taste. I have other flavors to experiment with as well.

Even the fussy maintenance one must accept along with vaping doesn't matter to me. I like the ritual. Now I'm just busy stockpiling some parts, and I've even ordered a Prodigy!

I'm so glad I found the ECF Forum, because I've learned so much.

Happy Vaping!
