Ahlusion Teas - Initial Impressions

Again- all the flavors balanced well with each other - I didn't get the impression the flavors were fighting with each other or anything like that. I am very much looking forward to what a week will do to these.

*Note - for this, I used ecto as a pallet cleaner since using green tea like I normally wouldmakes no sense when tasting teas.

Mystic Spice - Nice layer of fruit and spices. I picked up a small bit of white pepper, peach, pear, and melon. I also got a fery faint amount of chai spices and ginger. It tasted like the base was green tea.

Masala Chai - Exact. This tasted exactly like a warm cup of chai tea. I got a bit of cream, nutmeg, chai spices. Simply spot on.

Ginger Apple - This tasted like either a lighter green tea base or a white tea. Red Delicious apple was faint but, there. The ginger was a bit heavy but, not horribly so. I suspect this will balance well after steeping

Black Pomegranate - Definite black tea. The base was near perfect to teas I have in my cupboard. Flavorful with all the characteristics you'd expect from a black tea. The pom was light and slightly muted. I expect that to open up nicely.

Cranberry Autumn - tasted like a lighter black tea for a base with a pinch of ginger - not too much to be overpowering. The cranberry tasted like real cranberry (not oceanspray juice).

Black Peach - same good black tea base. Of all the teas I had tonight, this one was a bit disappointing. The peach flavor is very light and tasted more of the peach skin than the fruit itself. I am hoping this opens up after some steeping.

Berry Shangri-La - ginger notes with light chai spices. I picked up raspberry, a hint of strawberry and blueberry, and on the exhale a bit of boysenberry. It also tasted a bit like an earl gray base - we'll see how it ages.

Passion Tea - Floral. I could taste the flowers - a bit like rose hips plus a small amount of fruit. This one also tasted a bit like it had the earl gray base.

Caramel Pear Black Tea - Same solid black tea base as the others. Good flavor overall. The caramel tasted more like a baking caramel than candy which I very much appreciate. The pear was very light. I am looking forward to what this one does.

CW, are you going to systematically--maybe once a week or two--post a follow-up? Maybe that is more of a suggestion than a question. ;) Thanks for the read.

p.s. You may want to try their Ginger Orange Oolong. If you dig Oolong, you'll be amazed at how they abducted its essence!

Good suggestion.

I had intended on posting a more detailed run through of each juice once it steeped. However, given just the amount of change I get from some of these from last night to today, a couple of updates makes sense.
