Roll your resistnace wire on a solid object. Hex wrench/toothpick/drill bit. Remember what you wrapped it on, so you can make exact same coil later, or make small adjustments. You can use the same toothpick to position the coil around your posts,

Glow your coil, make sure there are no shorts, check resistance. You can spread the loops evenly to make it look pretty. I haven't noticed any other benefit to them being even

Get your wick of choice onto an extra chunk of wire, or needle threaders

Pull it through the coil. If it's cotton, you don't want it to be tight, as it will expand as it soaks up juice.
