Happy 2 Year Anniversary: Robert Oneil...

Delilah reminded me that it has been 2 years of "Reokins" on ECF. I may have told this story before, but it bears reminding that to stick to what you know is good... can have a great outcome.

When the 1st batch of ReoGrands came to pass, I was right here at ECF. Those who know me would say that it would not be a surprise that I had purchased 1 from the very 1st batch. And after, I called Robert as when I got it, the metal "Ring" that surrounded the threading was "Too High" for me to get my new adaptors on and off.

Robert said that he would cut down my ring, but asked me not to show it to people telling them that this is how the mod was being sold. Of course, I still have that mod and aside from telling this story here, I have kept my promise and have sent many friends to him over the past 2 years to get the "Standard" ring.

He was a bit upset that hardly any takers were buying this new custom wooded mod. He asked if I thought the price was too high? I told him that it was set just right as this was the highest quality wood and took time to create.

Look 2 years later... and it all came true. The price was right and the people here at ECF love this Man and his Mods so much, that unless you get into a very long line, you will never be able to get his Mods. Hundreds of thousands of posts on the Reo thread and it has not let up... and I think will not for many years to come.

There always is a place in the market for quality and for a person who stands behind his product. Just about a year ago... when he was busy as can be, I wrote to him to ask if he could cut a hole in the door like his newer Mods had as I did not like using the screw that was on my original door. He would not charge me and that original door is here with the hole cut perfectly.

So, I wish him continued sucess and maybe one day, he will grow large enough so that I can purchase a 2nd Mod from him. I just seem to miss every time he has new Products made as the minute it goes up for sale, it is sold within seconds. You have to be "On your toes" to get this Man's Mods today... quite a long way from 2 years ago... but.. if you knew him then, it is no surprise the success he has become.
