After using the same silica build in my DID for almost 2 weeks, I took the wick and coil off of it today. Since I don't have the clear window on it (just something different) I can't tell if my juice has turned dark, like it does when using mesh. I took a syringe and sucked out the juice and it looks to be as clear as new.
I got some ekowool yesterday and have been playing with it. Since it's basically "silica".. I detect no difference in flavor but it seems to be wicking better.. which is good. The ends do tend to fray but that hasn't been any problem. I don't know if I'll be using mesh again.
