I second the strategy singu gave. They also say that there's as much as a 10 fold variation in nic tolerance between individuals.
Good read:

18 mg wasn't enough for me, but sometimes 24 feels a bit too much (usually when I am vaping for the sheer point of vaping rather than trying to satisfy a craving). I can say though that 24 mg has gotten me through the rougest of cravings without a hitch.
To put into perspective my habit of 25 years analog. 1st 13 years Newport Box, then did a switch to reg. Skipping over the brand hunt I went through over 3 or so years, I ended up on American Spirits Blue which to me seem to be a pretty strong over the last 8 - although I cut it down to 7 cigs a day last few months. Peaked at 2 PAD.
I'm planning on staying with 24 for a while before I step down, but worried that my new PV will allow me to take in more of the nic or I'll find myself vaping more often and so 18 maybe the right choice for me soon enough.
Something else I picked up on here, if you find you get a juice that's too strong for you, save it if you liked it. You can always mix it with the same juice at a lower or 0mg strenght to create a strenght you like. Warrants further research of course for mixing formulas.
Good luck on your journey.
