Bad News - iClear 30

So hey guys, Good News here with another negative review - this time, it's the iClear 30.

Now, before this review, the truth is that the iClear series tends to be one of the highest regarded tanks around - I see many less problems with it than anything else out there. The reviews are usually good, and the problems are usually solveable.

However, here's my experience:

First, after unboxing my iClear 30, I fill the tank up with the thinnest juice in my stock, one that I really want to experience a clean flavor from (because the flavor is so light, it picks up any nasty flavors in tanks). Everyone recommends letting the tank sit overnight, so I put it in a dark closet and let it be.

However, to my surprise, 4 hours later, the tank had leaked all over the place! I had everything snug and secure with the tank, and somehow, the juice just poured out from between the plastic and metal base (not the bottom hole - I didn't even have the thing filled up enough for it to leak through the wick holes). Knowing that these issues can sometime solve themselves, I fill the tank up again, resecure everything, and let it sit for a couple more hours - so far, no leaks!

Yet, here's where the review gets bad experience wise - after hours of letting the thing sit, I finally figure "Hey, this might as well be enough time, some people only sleep for 6 hours or so." and I try to vape it. The whole time, I notice that my juice hasn't "went down" in the least (the phenomenon that many report), but since the juice I'm using is water-thin, I figure that it just wicked immediately upon filling it - this particular juice does that very well. But I start my test at 3.3V's, and I get almost no vapor, and really no flavor. I try to vape it again after 30 seconds, and I get a bit of a scratchy, dry hit.

I think to myself "Ok, this thing just needs to sit." I let it sit for hours, and I go back to vape. This time, I turn it up a little to 3.7V's, thinking it may need a little boost of power as well. The first hit gives me a sight bit more of vapor, but not any real flavor. The next hit, again, tastes dry and a bit scratchy. Right away, I know something is wrong - this device just is barely giving me any vapor, it's tasting dry, and yet my tank has been soaking in water-like juice for about 12 hours. The thought that pops to my mind is that one of the coils is busted, and sadly, I don't have another to try.

As of right now, I can't figure out what's going on with this tank, other than that with the bottom coil, the rubber grommet seems to push tighter on those wicks than it does with the top coil wick, which may lead to inconsistent wicking between the two coils, leading to a problem alike to what I experienced with the Aspire. Or one of the coils may be busted. Or something. I usually can break down what I think is a problem with a particular device, but other than the rubber grommet being too snug on the bottom wick, I have no clue when it comes to this one. Many consider the iClear to be a hassle-free device, and many report a ton of vapor and a nice clean flavor.

Either way, the iClear 30 gets a Bad News for now. I'm placing a call into the vendor tomorrow (I purchased from the same vendor as I did for the Aurora), so hopefully, they can help me with a replacement.

P.S. A third attempt at vaping the iClear 30, using as gentle vaping draw I could possibly muster (for those who want to push that theory), and it popped a couple times, and gave me a ghastly dry hit that make my whole face scrunch up. It was nasty. I don't see what in the world is wrong with this tank, but it seems bizarre.
