Sales/Use Tax - Save Your Receipts!!!

I have talked to people, here in AZ, that have received letters from the state demanding payment for e-cigarette supplies. AZ appears to be estimating the amount of analog cigarettes that would have been purchased, over time from your first known purchase, and are attempting to tax people on an arbitrary figure.

Every state has the right to ask you to pay a "use" tax when sales tax was not paid (like most internet purchases). They can also levy a luxury tax if e-cigarettes are listed in your states' luxury tax statutes.

I strongly suggest you keep every receipt for any purchases that involve vaping (juices, devices, cartos, etc). That way you can present the receipts and pay tax on what you spent, not what they calculate you would've spent.

There are five states that do no have sales tax. If you live in one of these states, this does not apply to you unless you pay local sales tax.
