Testing Your Juices with an Atomizer or Old Cartomizer

I just posted this in the forums for some-one using Volt X2 batteries, and thought it might be helpful for vapers using KR808-d batteries in particular. So, you have a bunch of different flavors but you don't want to fill a new cartomizer for each one just to try them out.

The common way to test juices is to use an atomizer. There are quite a few available for 510 threaded batteries. Volts and Volt X2s are 808 threaded, so are Bloog. So if you want an atomizer you need either an 808 atomizer or buy an 808-510 adapter. If you buy an atomizer you want 2.6-2.8 ohms for Smokeless Image batteres, which is what their cartomizers ohms are.

Another way to test your juices is to take an old used cartomizer and drip it. By taking the filler out of a cartomizer you are exposing the atomizer. Video from mr.outlaw below and then a few more comments:

It's better using a manual battery but Smokeless Image auto batteries are sealed (and I think Bloog may have sealed autos too) - which means they are drip resistant. You can use the cartomizer with the filler taken out on a sealed auto. Just don't drip into it while it's screwed onto the auto battery. Two drops is enough - you don't want to flood the cartomizer. So put two drops in, wait a few seconds to ensure it isn't flooded (you'll see it leak out the bottom if its flooded), then vape.
You should get about ten hits vaping from two drops. I've done this myself.

So - pull the carto stuffing out with tweezers, drop in two drops of juice. Wait a few seconds, then put the cartomizer on the battery.
Since Volt and X2 autos are sealed - if you do get a bit off juice on them just wipe it off. It is best to avoid getting juice on a battery - so drip the cartomizer off the battery then screw it on.

SI cartomizers are bottom coil so using them to drip works well. I've found the Kanger bottom coil cartomizers to be good quality too, and they would also be good for drip testing.
